solid subframe bushes

Hey guys, I would assume you dont sell alloy subframe bushes with offset hole centres in order to fit s14 subframes to an s13 but i was wondering if you could do a set of bushes before they've had the holes drilles so i can do it myself.

Cheers

Hi Duncan,

No to both of the above I'm afraid, in the past we've just elongated the holes in the bushes to fit an S14 subframe!

To be honest on my 32 I "massaged" the stock studs into position to fit it, but nobody believed me about that since I'm usually a weakling. It did take a LOOONG time though, hole slotting would be much easier!!

k, slotting it is then, cheers for the help. I'll put an order in once i've got my subframe back from the painters.

Would you not get a bit of movement with that?
My bushes are knackered since changing to s14 subframe. Been looking around for solution.

for the small amount you actually have to slot them the opposing bush will stop the over one moving and vice versa. If that makes sense. :)

Any advantage of using an S14 rather than S13 subframe?

I believe the S14 rear subframe is superior for traction, the angle the lower arm moves at encourages the wheels to push down onto the tarmac under load.

Also has a slightly wider track too, i think?

I know the front arms have a wider track when fitted to S13.

I'd imagine fitting an S14 subframe onto an S13 would be a proper bitch with solid bushes!

correct on both counts, better geometry for better handling and slightly wider track.

Jord: it would be a bitch, hence the bush slotting, cant remeber the dimensions off the top of my head but its only a few mm difference between the mounting points. something like 5mm i think. easy enough with the standard bushes though, just force it on.

Yeh mine i fitted with standard bushes. Was a squeeze. Knackered the bushes straight away. It has a wider track. For optimum benefits you need to space the 2 front fixings by a few MM.

Ordered these yesterday after 3 and they turned up here a few minutes ago. cant believe how quick you guys got them out especially as 24hr delivery usually means 48hr for my house. cheers DW.
