After much painstaking consideration, I have decided to put my 86 up for sale.

This is a 1984 Ae86 GTV. As far as I know it’s the lightest of the Sprinter Trueno models, with keep fit windows, no clock, and non-assisted steering. Its in fantastic condition.

The car was sourced by Miguel from Newera in June 2005 and I picked the car up from the docks in July of that year. Since then its mostly sat in the garage, but I have done 1 practice day, 1 track day and a couple of thousand very pleasurable dry road miles in it.

Since purchase, I have changed the wheels and installed the Omex ECU and Bucket seat and harness. I have also replaced the Toyota badge on the back, fitted new carpet and tidied up the interior.

It is genuinely one of the cleanest 86s I have seen, and with a teeny small bit of work, it would be perfect.

Spec:

Corolla AE92 engine (later model, stronger block, higher compression) running throttle bodies with standalone Omex 600 management (fitted in the UK) Mapped by Ben Rushworth at Angelworks Technologies
HKS Cams/ Verniers
RS Hamada Tubular Manifold and Jubiride exhaust
AE92 radiator with twin electric fans
Trust oil cooler

Toyota Racing Developments two way differential
Short ratio final drive
Toyota Racing Developments short shifter
Rear Jubiride traction brackets fitted with Tokico HTS shock absorbers and lowered short travel kg/mm Formula 21 springs
Techno Pro Spirit lateral support bar
Adjustable Coilovers up front with RS Hamada adjustable top mounts
Lower roll centre adaptors to set bump steer to a minimum
Uprated steering tie rods allow greater steering angle
Full safety 21 cage and Cusco bracing
Drift button

Very clean OE interior (Drivers side Evo 2 bucket, mount and Willans harness negotiable)
Omori temp gauge

J-Blood front Aero
East Bear lightweight fibgreglass boot and bonnet

The wheels are 13x7 0 offset Starmags. I also have a set of very rare 0 offset SSR Mesh I may be prepared to sell in addition to the car.

Just got an MOT. Plenty of tax left. The car has an 'Ae86' numberplate, which is probably worth a few quid.

Bad points: There’s a teeny tiny bit of damage to the paint on the front of both front arches (a very cheap fix), a few cracks in the front aero and a tiny bit of bubbling on the n/s rear arch. I had a quote for £200 from a very reputable bodyshop to tidy up the problems. This is not your typical rot box 86- the shell is totally solid.

Both Stiggy and Will have passengered in this car and have commented on how awesome the set up feels. I’m a novice really, but even I find this car a total piece of piss to drift. Its absolutely brilliant. It also rides really smoothly for a drift car, and is great fun as an A to B blaster.

Here she is in action at Silverstone where she earnt me my Eurodrift license within 3 hours of my first ever go. See, that easy!

My plan was to tidy the car slightly over winter (when it comes off the road) and hold out for a premium price in the new year. However, I really want to go competitive next year, I’ve seen a car that I really want, and I’d like to sell now if I can. This car could easily be used in competition, but it’s a bit too clean and I’d rather it went to someone who will preserve its immaculate condition!

I think, given the condition and spec, this is worth pretty much top 86 money. Call me about price if you're interested.

The car is located in Kent, and I'm reachable on 07814 849199 anytime.

Cheers

Tom
