I have a SR20DE( converted to a turbo) motor from a S15. I have reacently run bearings and id just like to ask a few questions. Ive been told that i need a set of bearings , new oil pump and a new uncut crank. The crank just confuses me a little, ive been told it is Nitrated and once polished or cut it loses the coating, and that losing the coating would result into constantly running bearings again. The car is set to be my competition car for 2017, and i wouldnt like.to rub bearings half way through the season. Any adittional advise would be appreciated!

TIA

This is completely incorrect, if your engine builder is telling you this, then find a new builder...

if a crank needs a polish, it will use the standard size bearings. if your crank has spots or slight scoring the machinist will grind the crank down by a certain amount, but companies such as ACL sell the oversized bearings to suit the application, the engine builder will tell you what size you need. The bearings will only wear out fast if the correct measurements have been taken.

@Daniel Evans.
Do you know what would be the correct bearing clearance on standard size?

The standard in the manual is = Standard 0.004 - 0.022 (0.0002" - 0.0009")
Limit: 0.05 (0.0020")

get your crank checked first and make sure it is perfect, ACL do black race edition bearings which is what I am running.

That sounds like my old motor, tbh, the DE head is better flowing than the DET so keep it or at least the cams and throttle body unless your going bigger
