Hey. Have a s14 with sr20 and everything was fine untill i drove it around the block once, didnt go over 2500rpm. But once i got back at had tiny backfires at idle and got the fault code egt ch3 to high, what could be wrong?

Have it set to 15, so unless it has changed itself it should be good

Got no cat, 3 inch straightpipe, did change plugs and compression tested it and it was all good, and ran fine after, so maybe just bad plugs?

Ngk bk8 something, but put bk7 in yesterday

And the car isnt tuned yet so it runs rich, so im asuming it was just the black plugs

Cam timing (retarded exhaust cam) or retarded ignition timing.
If it is a programmable ecu make sure the initial timing has been set correctly.

Whats the spec? Could be a few things if you've put in a bunch of aftermarket parts.
