SR20DET engine dropped into a 1973 Triumph GT6

hi i am looking into dropping my s14 Engine gearbox and breaks into a 1973 triumph gt6 as a bit of a project car, does anybody know of anything of this that has been done before? i look forward to some feedback... some people have called me crazy for this..:D
 
I'll ask a guy at work that has a GT6 Mk3, he'd probably remember any similar ideas very angrily though :p You should hear him bitch about the MGB...
 
He vaguely remembers someone putting a Toyota engine in a Spitfire, and the straight swap of a 2.5l bored out version of the standard GT6 engine... when I mentoined a nissan swap, including brakes and trans "It's not a GT6 any more then is it?" :p

I suspect that if you can't even figure out how to find a GT6 to buy then you're gonna have problems all down the line when it comes to installing an engine designed 50 years later than the GT6 engine... It's a nice idea but just stick to a standard GT6 engine or the bored out version for now if you're set on that chassis.

And watch out if you get a GT6 mk1 because they have terrible handling.
