SR20DET engine gasket kit question

Hi all,

I searched and searched on the internet but could not find an answer to my question.

I'm about to buy a full Nissan oem gasket kit for my SR20 but as I found, there are 2 different part numbers between s14 and s14a despite there being the same number of parts

I understand there are 2 kits per model, whether you are doing a valve regrind or not but can someone tell me the difference between a '94 - '96 kit and a kit for '96 onwards?

Part numbers for the kits are;

'94 - '96 kit - 1010175F25

'96 onwards - 1010175F27

The only thing I can really think of is the different gasket for the chain tensioner maybe?
 
i think chain tension is the same between them. I mean i used a bent cam headgasket on my straight cam and its fine. Cant think what the difference would be but im pretty sure they would both be the same
 
I actually rang up a Nissan dealer and they say neither of the kits are available anymore :(
Then again, FRsport do the full kit and they are reasonably priced even by the time you add the VAT on and they do not give an option for either. Just one kit
 
theres a guy on ebay that sells full rebuild gasket kits. Think hes from latvia or something but its all genuine and i got alot of stuff from him aswell as friends
 
Yea, I have seen his ebay shop and it currently works out cheaper to get bits from FRsport even by the time you add your VAT and shipping on.
He only shows the one gasket kit too.
