Steering wheel neutral position.

Rather odd this one.

Fitted some toe arms (rear) and new wheels all around.

Then dialled out to zero toe on the rear.

Nothing else done to the car.

Noted on the way home the steering wheel sits slightly off centre (right) of its neutral position.

Car doesn't pull, infact it was the smoothest ride I've ever had in the thing since I bought it !

Is this just the camber of the road with wider wheels ?

These are ET35, 18x8 - 225/35

Recommended size was ET40 I think its clear however you could go for an ET25 !

Does anyone know what the best way of setting the nuetral position or do you have to remove the steering wheel.

Or am I just being fussy.

lol :wack: Git, I told you this last night.

Get the front end set up (tracking, toe, whatever you want to call it), and it'll set the wheel straight. It'll just be some settings quirk that needs ironing out. Dooon't take the wheel off and set it straight, since then as far as the rack is concerned it'll always be off dead center slightly, and when you get it set up properly the wheel will be back off center again.

If it's not pulling I doubt it's the camber of the road doing it, it'll be the new suspension etc will have changed the settings slightly.

Thanks guys :) I must admit the offsets could have been much more daring, the standard size compo offered is ET40 so I figured ET35 would be enough pushing in case I went to far. On reflection blummin ET25 would have been fine.

My only quibble is the paint jobs on them are paper thin they are scuffed just from putting tires on. They will be due a refurb in 6 months garunteed but I can't moan for the money.

I'm going back to hsg to have another go :)
