hi all i am planning to stitch/seam weld my unibody for increased stiffness. i know that the body must be carefully leveled but i was wondering the correct way to support the car on jack stands in order to ensure it is not welded into a twisted shape because of the stresses and distortion.. thanks in advance.

Carefully leveled? Well unless you have access to a proper jig/laser measurement device to measure the entire chassis, and the ability to adjust the chassis if there is a problem, it's not really worth worrying about. If you car hasn't been in a smash or major restorative work then the chassis should be ok. When stitch welding make sure to stagger the welds on double seams. When I stitched my last shell I spaced the welds at about 1".
