Hello everyone.

I made a thread ages ago when I first got this car but I didn't update it and I think it got lost to the void when the forum changed.

Anyway. This is my 1990 mk1 Eunos Roadster. It's a 1.6 short nose crank, it's got AC that works!? And it's kinda rusty.

I bought it standard last year and it now has:

-a welded diff
-eBay coilovers
-slightly smaller momo steering wheel
-bride brix recliner
-trlane roll bar
-13 inch compomotive/appliance wheels
-bomex side skirts
-front lip off some Peugeot idk

And that's about it. My plans are too...err do more drift days and fix it when it breaks lol. I do have some destroyordie hubs to fit as well as some ns2rs to try to negate a bit of the understeer. It's done 3 drift days so far with no problems (touching all the wood), oh yeah it's also my daily.

Here's some photos:

Liking the car!! I really want 13's but just feel that tyres are going to be more of a pain to get etc!

Possibly harder to find, but very cheap!

My local scrappy seems always have a few sets and sells them with decent tread for £15 a pair!

I suppose quite a lot of older little hatchbacks came fitted with 13s as standard.

Thanks for the advice, maybe before buying wheels I'll go see what the local scrappies and tyre places are saying. If not I'll just rock 15's for a while!

This looks Rad. I almost bought one of these recently (Still kinda tempted to...) but this is exactly what an NA chassis should look like - low with little wheels!

I'll keep an eye on this build.

Thanks a lot!

You definatly should! They really are as fun as people say :D. And yeah little wheels are the best.

Looks good, I'm now on my 3rd MX-5 after recently buying a 1.6l Eunos (mainly to save me ruining my Chaser) but havent drifted one yet. lol

just need my MOT doing and my hubs fitted before next drift day. also I'm taking it around castle combe next week, should be a laugh.

any updates?

Yep, although nothing to show really. passed MOT and fit hubs :) just need tracking doing before rockingham on the 9th.

Castle Comble was a laugh. handled suprizingly well and was able to keep up with much faster cars in the corners... But i fooked my diff as almost all the oil had leaked out! got my old one welded and put it back in with some poly void fillers.

lll try to upload a video from one of the combe sessions.

Heres how a mx5 with eBay coilovers and a welded diff handles on track...... really well it turns out!

sorry about the shit sound, its in a waterproof case.

anyway got another drift day at Rockingham tomorrow :D!

Rockingham was excellent as always. Looks like the car needs a new clutch now though! It was good looking trough the footage and seeing how I progressed throughout the day so I made this quick little edit just to kinda sum it up.

It looks really good man.

I have a bride brix recliner as well but am struggling to actually get it to fit.

How did you get yours in? For me the reclining controls get stuck and I can't get the seat far back enough for my legs >:(

Also finding it hard to get it mounted.

I have to live with foamectomy for now.

yeah its a tight fit. I think if I was any taller it wouldn't work (im about 5,11). I have to open the door to use the reclining controls and I had to remove the armrest and interior plastic behind the seat. they don't really fit in these little cars haha. mines on a bride rail as well

This gives me hope!

I was close to giving up and selling the brix but I think I might try to get it to fit again.

Do you think you would be able to post a picture of what you removed to get the seat in?

I'm guessing you removed the plastic stuff near the seat belt tower?

that's the one. I already removed it when I fitted my roll bar so I just didn't put it back

Do you still have the car? Around your ends looking for people who also own mk1s!

Yo. No, unfortunately this got too rotten after a couple of years but it did me very well! Eventually I killed the 1.6 and converted it to an NB 1.8 using the 1.6 ecu, and that was surprisingly good! But it got pretty well recycled in the end when i broke it

still got loads of MX5 bits from having two more after this tho!
