Yep folks, that's right = BRAWDY IS ON, MOTHERFUCKERS!

Date is 7th - 8th May, location as ever is Brawdy Airfield, West Wales, sat-nav post code is SA62 6NN (takes you to the main entrance - we DO NOT use that entrance), but en-route you will see the TDW signs.

£55 per day in advance for drivers (probably the best value for money drift event in the UK).

£10 on the day for pit access per additional person (includes extra drivers).

The opportunity is there for those brave enough to max out their car before hitting up a bit of Manji action on a mile and a half of MOD runway, 100mph+ entries, a playpen for absolute newbs and just about everything in between!

All this and a superb atmosphere (supplied FOC by the Cone-Dodgers staff) and a legendary Saturday night!

For the regulars, things will be run slightly different to what you are used to. In addition to the drifting, we are hosting a safety partnership demonstration area which will be open to the public. This will not impact on the drifting and will be kept at a separate end of the runway, but it would be nice if you are attending that you show some support as proceeds from the event will be going to charity. This means that there WILL be police on site, and it's very likely you will be breathalyzed before you are allowed on track. Also additional restrictions from the IOPD mean that absolutely no passengers will be allowed on track.

Places are limited, so get yourself in quick. Limit of 40 cars per day.

A few bits n' bobs...

Helmets and long sleeves are mandatory. We also strongly recommend you bring gloves, take out personal insurance for the event and arrange breakdown cover in case you get stuck out in the arsecrack of Wales!

All vehicles will have to pass our scrutineering before being allowed on track. The main points we enforce are:
- No structural rot
- Two independant braking systems (split system ok)
- Ign kill switch in reach of driver
- TWO throttle return springs
- No pointy bits
- No excessively noisy exhausts - you know if it's too loud

Cool. Few questions...

- Two independant braking systems (handbrake/footbrake ok)
- Ign kill switch in reach of driver
- TWO throttle return springs

Independant, so no hydros if you havent got a cable wand too?
Ign kill switch- Ie, the stock ign switch or some aftermarket job?
A lot of cars havent got two springs as standard have they? Christ, my car has none I can see, its electric.

Correct, one mechanical, one hydraulic. In case one fails.
Ign kill switch- Ie, the stock ign switch or some aftermarket job?
Stock ignition is fine provided you can reach it when strapped in.

Very few cars have two springs as standard. Pop down homebase and bodge something up. Last thing we want is a runaway car in the pits!

if its fly-by-wire throttle(ie no cable) it will not be nessecery

standard key is fine as duke said must be reachable when strapped in

what happens if your factory cable handbrake has mad way for power mods i.e. turbo down pipe!! LOL

any chance i can pay for both days without paying £57.50 for each trasnaction ?
sorry to be petty but thats a couple of quid to go towards juice and corona for drew lol

suprised there isnt more uptake on this

They don't know what they'll be missing, best events I've ever been to. Where else can you drift at 100+ mph in a safe environment, at times it seems like you have a whole feck off runway all to yourself.

Paid ages ago, can't wait :smokin:

This place is akin to a whole 2 mile 6 lane motorway with no central reservation and lots of other bits too.
Best place in the uk to drift no doubt.

Surely it isn't the end of the world to slap in a cable handbrake?

I'm really shocked at the lack of interest for this, am I missing something?

If we can't get the numbers we won't have an event!

would love to run this, but with the truck having the old pull and turn handbrake (from a pickup) we had to remove it to get the down pipe in and as a result there in now no cable handbrake system :( considering the title, it all seems a little odd that we can run in the ODC series but not at a tramp drift event??

The title has nothing to do with it, if you are skidding at 100mph and have no way of stopping your truck, you will kill someone, probably yourself. Aggy mentioned you have structural rust too...

Anyway, the regulations are there for a reason, primarily to keep everyone safe but also to keep me out of jail. You have 6 weeks ish to get it ship shape. I know where I would be focussing my attention!

In case one breaks.

Pop down homebase and buy a spring, attach/cable tie/weld/whatever one end to your throttle and the other to something solid. 50p mod which will keep the IOPD happy.

Mate I've been waiting for brawdy ever since i missed out last year and been watching crosshatches vid praying for it to come back!..

BUT it will be some of the rules dude. :( I'd LOVE to test the new car to these speeds and freedom of wide open space.. but for example:

- i have no cable handbrake currently, not a big thing but an effort
-I have no two spring setup and no idea how to on the v8.. id have to ask for assistance
- Its 4 hours away, which is fine.. but would love to bring a mate as company but no passengers means its kinda pointless bringing a mate.
- my exhaust is pretty damn loud tbh

i know individually these arent all huge things, but then put them all together, add the usual fuel/tyres/travel time, and it adds up.

simply for me personally.. if passengers were allowed.. id probably make the effort on the rest, but as they are not.. ill go to Mallory, which is only an hour away, can do 100mph if you have the balls/skills and allows passengers. :)

Just trying to help, not hating as I understand the reasons behind the rules. :)

Oh I didn't read all the above stuff before making my payment :(

One of my main reasons for coming up was for passengers to get a ride.

Also my car has mot but not 100% it'll pass your scrutineering.

I have a screamer pipe!!

Lastly there aren't any provisions for cable handbrake in my driftwork knuckles :(

Looks like I may have to pass up on this, ill let you know in the next day or two!
