tein superstreet springs question

cefiro_drifta

Mad pointing Munky
i know u cant get firmer springs for these as tein dont advice it but can u get longer springs ir maybe R32 springs to fit in to S13 shocks as i have been told that R32 springs are slightly longer

i got a bring problem and have had it since the coilovers were installed with the rear spring banging around and almost being uncaptive thanks to the lil helper springs stretched and it not supporting the main spring leik it should

im about half way down the threads so its not like the car is slammed nd stupidly low ...

can u confirm for me if possibe that the tein R32 spring is longer than the tein S13 sring and if they are interchangeable

is so how much for replacement springs

thank very much DW ppls and its pretty urgent and would liek to get sorted before the 8th ( shake down test at lydd day )

Sorry dude it doesn't quite work like that, fit longer springs and your car will be jacked up in the air and you'll have to wind it down to be in the same place you are now.

I've never understood why your car does that, uncaptive springs never usually bang around like yours do. I've set all my cars to be uncaptive on the back, since it's better for a drift setup to have some droop, and never had that. I'm wondering if it's the helper springs themselves causing the noise when they bind. Try removing them and see what happens.

yeha its the helper spring thats the trouble... i can grasb the spring and move it side to side really easitly coz the helper spring is so extended... if i raise the suspension all the way to the top so the helper spring is fully compressed then tis all good but as soon as it starts to extend it makes the main spring wobble all over the place...

do u know if the helper springs can be put in upside down ???? seeing as the fronts dont have an issue and i have very little faith in the garage that suppiled them as they contributed to my rb goin poooey pop bang

do u know how long the rb spring is compaired to the s13 one ... if its only an inch or two then that migh help wioth keeping the helper spring more compressed making the main spring have less movement

might just take the helper spring off but been advised againts that

If the spring were an inch longer it would be the same as winding your spring seat up an inch. It makes no difference at all.

Your noise is almost certainly coming from the helper spring binding and unbinding as you go over bumps, take the helper spring out and I'd hope it'd stop making the noise. It'll just mean the spring is free when the car is jacked up, but as soon as it's loaded it'll pop back into place over the spring seats. 100% fine. :)

ok cool.... i thought that if then spring was an inch longer it woulds sit in the same place and compress the helper spring more ... suppose it doesnt work liek that

i'll rip the rear helpers out and see how i get one ... thanks buddy

bon just antoher quick question ... when u sell the tein stuff is the helper spring at the top of the spring or undernieth it ???

Not 100% sure exactly how they come in the box from Tein but the usual rule is put the helper spring at the top.

ok no worrys, saw some pics of an s13 and it had the helper springs on the bottom but resident welsh mad man taff said they have to be at the top so its all good... they getting taken off and then if tis shit thye go back on ... thanks for youor help bon
