Ten Of The Best - Anyone Competing??

Getting it mapped up on race gas Wednesday and as much boost as she'll take..

We aren't going to win, we are racing for team Eurospec, we just need to do reasonably well so the team takes the overall win across all the classes;)

But mainly, it's seat time for Justin, the car is completely alien to what it used to be, so itll be good to get used to the car rather than rocking up at BDC having only driven it a couple of times..lol

What was the results on race gas and loads of boost?

Friend of mine's Scooby has just been finished, he was running low 9s at previous events, hoping for 8s now.

And still a lot less power than some BDC cars lol.

We ended up dyno'ing it and discovering we have a restriction somewhere.. I think it's the china inlet mani, but only investigating will out the problem.. Basically made 10hp less as 1.5bar than it did at 1.2bar.. So we actually backed it off to 1.1bar where it seemed happier.

So we had an absolutely fantastic weekend.. We got Silver ware:thumbs:

The car was awesome, had an issue with clutch slipping due to fluid expanding in the line and putting pressure into the slave thus pushing the folk and releasing the hub slightly. I fixed it, all is good with that now.

We spent all day saturday on the handling track, we were running R888 all round in the morning for practice, putting in some grip laps and using the time to tweek the car, tire pressures, and get Justin used to the car..
In the afternoon we switched to Achillies ATR's on the rear and spent the afternoon Drifting.. Justins drift laps were faster than his grip laps, ~43secs grip and ~40secs drifting..

The main event on Sunday went very well for us, did a few drag runs, posted a 12.6, could have done better with some more experimenting with tyre pressures and Justin refining his launch, but he was itching to get out on track..
The track was changed on Sunday, it was ~3secs longer.. Put down some grip laps and did ok.. Threw the Achillies back on and did a Drift lap that qualified us in Third possision! First place was a Dax Rush with a hyabussa turbo engine, and Second was a Formula 3 car!! The F3 car broke and dropped out.. At this point it goes to knock out with top 5, we put the R888's back on and Justin did a fecking quick skid lap that took him through to the final..
We never had a chance to touch the time of the Dax so Justin just smoked the hell out of the 888s and put on a damn fine show for the crowd..

Really happy to take Second place in the handling, we didn't go to win, but we wernt far off it:thumbs:

Fucking nice work Dale, thats awesome mate :D

We usually stick an SXOC team in but didnt feel it was worth it this year with an F3 car and that Dax in there (IIRC he won it last year as well), good to see drifters representing and marvellous the drifty laps were quicker than the grippy ones LOL :D

The F3 car wasn't in the RWD class, so that's not a problem. There was FWD and 4wd cars faster than the RWD cars too, but they aren't in the same class either.

The Dax is road legal so why not.

What happened to the 300ZX and the Talbot Sunbeam? According to the qualifying results those two came 2nd n 3rd on Sunday and the S13 4th in RWD class?

Cheers Doc:thumbs:
Yeah the Dax is mental, it's won for the past 13yrs apparently..
There was an S15 gripping on sat, didn't see him out Sunday.

Stav, duno, there was 2 300zx in the finals, the irony is we blagged our set of r888s off Bob in the white 300, then we beat him on them..lol

I wish we had time to put a few extra psi in the tires for that last run.. Justin worked hard to keep it sideways on 265/40/18 888s with 26psi..
Hopefully some vids of sat on the Achillies will surface, mental smokes:thumbs:
