Hi guys,
i´m from germany and currently owning a w202 turbodiesel with welded diff, remap, bigger turbo.
I´m daily driving the car, but dont feel confortable with it since its more ore less illegal on the roads and i will have big trouble if i crash into someone else on the streets.
My real daily is an old volvo 850 T-5, so a FWD.
Now i´m looking to sell both of them and get into one real daily drifter. What it should have is and LSD (no welder like my benz), RWD for sure and some power (200hp+), and a lot of room for camping, bikes and other stuff.
I was thinking about an e46 330d. Just remap it, get an aftermarket LSD and i´m done? What do you guys think is a good option and also affortable and possible to drive legal on german roads? (about 4000€ car price)
E 36 328 would also be a option, but i already have rust problems on my w202 and i hate it.
 
I struggled to find an LSD without going for an M3 rear end swap or spending mega money on a custom made one. Better off welding it.

I don't know the rules in Germany. What makes it illegal?
 
Diffs with more than 60% lock are not allowed. Even everything you change and what is obviously to see like steering wheel, suspension, seats, exhaust needs to be checked by tüv and is expensive to get legally ducumented for your car.
I thought lsd's are available for around 1200€...
 
So What i´m looking for is:
- wagon
- 250 hp+
- cheap (5000€ max)
- option for lsd
- good daily

any suggestions?

War mir neu dass geschweisstes Diff illegal ist(?)
Naja wer checkt das schon?

Only real option would be E46 330d wagon....

Naja in Deutschland ist doch eig alles illegal...
For a second car a welded diff isn´t a that big problem, but in case of a crash you could have big problems and pay everything yourself especially if you hurt other people, so for daily driving quite risky. Therefore i´m loocking for something more legal.
Currently also looking for 330i Wagons, they seem to go well and aren´t that expensive here.
I think that will be my choice.
