i bought a set about 2yeas ago and they are now leaking grease on the ball joint is this there normal life span ?

Impossible to say - miles covered, how hard have they been used, how low is the car, have the boots been on etc...

Too many variables, but outside of warranty I'm afraid.
All of the failed TEIN items I've seen have been due to the boots not being fitted properly.

it is on the external ball joint that bolts to the hub
dont think its worn yet but the boot is split and leaking grease can i get these any where ?

I was under the impression you were after just the boots?
Its pretty obvious that the rods/ends are in the shop :wack:

dont you know any thing your rubbish lol some one sack him

i thought i had to buy a set so was asking about the boots:nod: would be good to still buy the boots as the joint is spot on

Grant sell me your inner rods so i can refit my rod ends lol. My inner rods despite being less than a year old weren't covered because apparantly my mint boots/gator were leaking microscopic particles of water onto the joint and corroded the knuckle giving me about 2mm play.
Now have one mint inner rod, two mint ball joints and can;t fit them becuase one inner is fubar. Can'y justify buying another inner arm when warrenty should have coverd it.
Spent roughly 4-5k with driftworks over past 4 years (Not on the r33 lol) and the only issue i have ever had wasn't covered by the warrenty that was valid.

Grant just fit R33 rods and ends, they have plenty of thread for adding the extra spacer and if they are stronger than s13 ones.

hey Cole,

I'm sorry about the Tein rods/warranty/etc issue, trouble is that Tein will point blank flat out refuse ANY warranty claim where there is corrosion on the joint or any contaminants in there, and as we're just a reseller in this instance we have to work with Tein on any warranty issue.... :(

Unfortunately i had the same problem with you guys, even though the one that had failed was fine, the pair was not.

:(

get those rubber boots on!

Yep - just want to point out that we really look after our customers compared to most companys. We'll no quibble warranty everything we can, but we're at the mercy of TEIN on this one.

Thanks for pointing out our stuff is that good you've had no problems in 4 years :D

*Also - I've never seen a TEIN rod with play that wasnt rusted, make sure the boots are on!!
