SOLD!!!
"Japanese Import - manufactured in 1992, first registered in UK in April 2008
137,000 KM (85,000 miles) speedo etc still in kph
MOT until August 2011
Tax until July 2011
3 Former keepers
Full bpu, capable of around 400bhp at 17psi boost.
Automatic (same box as Supra mkiv)
For those who don’t know what an Aristo is it’s a Jap only model which is basically a Lexus GS300 powered by the legendary 2JZ GTE engine, same that is found in the Supra mkiv (3 litre, straight six, twin turbo). I bought the car in March 2010 and performance wise it was standard apart from cat back exhaust and FMIC.
A few things needed doing so I got them done: I replaced the brake accumulator with a new one from Toyota as it was recharging constantly (common problem). The new accumulator and a proper brake bleed fixed it and has been fine ever since. I also replaced the gearknob as the one in there was cracked and replaced horn button as missing. The shocks were knackered as well so I got new ones. These have since been replaced with brand new BC Racing coilovers.
It has been fully serviced when needed (all filters, plugs and oils) and isn’t due another one for another 1,000km. Has no rust on it, paintwork is in good condition and has had a respray at some point (export note says was changed from silver to black, no date etc though). A/C and all electrics etc work fine, interior in good condition apart from one fag burn on drivers seat. Brake fluid, pads and discs all changed at 136,000km, 2 new front tyres 500 miles ago. I have the export note, old MOTS, receipts and a 2JZ GTE manual on disc and the original owners manual in Japanese it you can read it.
The car has a couple of small bits that need doing if you want it 100% perfect (see below) but it is fast, has more than enough power, the straight six sounds amazing, has a huge road presence and looks pimp!
I’m looking for £2,545 for it. If you look at TT mkiv Supras with the same engine they’re around the £5K mark at the cheapest... so a cheaper way to enjoy a 2JZ and have seats in the back!
Bad points
All wheels curbed and need straightening etc
3 rear wheel studs need replacing as thread worn
Boot struts are weak (replacements included in sale)
Rear handbrake shoes low (replacements included in sale)
TRAC OFF light comes on randomly, has been like this since I got car and hasn’t got worse / changed.
This means that Traction control is off pretty much all the time.
Painted cracked on rear bumper (some git scraped me and drove off) see photo of touch up job
bottom of front splitter is split
rocker cover gasket needs replacing as weeping oil
there’s a slight bumps on it from the respray in Japan. Can get exact details / photos if you want
