Treating Rust - best cause of action?

Ok most of us have this problem, some more so than others. Mine however appears to be quite serious with parts of the rear boot and arches nearly falling off from crusting. However since i'm a bit of an amateur in this department, I was wondering if anyone could tell me when does rust become serious to the point of dangerous? Also whats the most effective, cheap and relatively easiest way to treat it? I have heard things to do with white spirit and what have you but was wondering what other people have done here. Any help would be appreciated

cut it out.... treat/seal bare metal thats left... fibreglass

or cut out and weld/filler and paint

either way... :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:

yep - sorry you dont have that much choice when it comes to rust - spirit wipe wont do you much good - sounds serious if its crumbling - get it treated as soon as you can - wont be the cheapest thing in the world to do thou
