Turbo Elbow S14a question

Messydan

AKA Fred Flintstone
Im sure this has been asked many times so ill say my apologies now.

Why do some S14/a turbo elbows state that one type is for the S14 and the other type is for use with the later S14a model with the precat. I have a 3” downpipe so I no longer have the precat. What is actually the difference and will the S14 turbo elbow in the DW shop be good to use.

Sorry about the silly question but I just wanted a definite answer.

I know the pictures dont really help but if anyone can shed a little help on this it would be much appreciated.

The S14 turbo elbow is longer as the S14 downpipe is shorter than an S14a's whereas the S14a downpipe is longer as the standard euro cars have an additional cat in the downpipe so the elbow for an S14a has to be shorter to accommodate.

You just need to find out the which downpipe you have and buy the appropriate elbow.

Ah i see. Thanks, i dont suppose you know how much longer the S14 elbow is, the last thing i want is my downpipe really close to the floor.

Really we recommend purchasing both at the same time to guarantee 100% fitment.

What make is your frontpipe?

I had a message from the previous owner whos just said that the fropnt pipe and det cat are S14, so the S14 elbow will be the one i need. Which is good as if the S14 elbow is shorter then my front pipe will have more clearence

order coming your way.

Thank you.
