Turbo my mx5

Hello all,
I was thinking about turboing my 1.8 94 eunos this summer, and I need to know a shopping list of stuff I will need, I don't really have a budget but don't want it really expensive, it's stock atm, I also want to know what other things I will need to upgrade to stop it from breaking, I'm getting turbo grooved and drilled disks with green stuff pads, drift works supercool ally rad with silicon hoses, and a stage two clutch what else do I need?

... what else do I need?

Seat time? :p lol.

Have a scan on mx5nutz for loads of words about turbo's etc. Few members on here run turbo 5's aswell. You planning to drift this car? If so have you given it a shot yet?
Reliability is key in this game for getting maximum seat time.. ;) Keeping it NA is the secret, make that drift and work.. and you got it.

Seat time?
And yeah I have drifted it a few times but it's not going to be drifted all the time I want it to be fast, good handling, easy to drift but not so easy that when I got round a corner it looses grip, is that possible? Haha

Totally man, you can make them handle like a go kart ;) Some basic suspension mods like bushings and stiffer ARB's etc would make it handle pretty sweeet.

Yeah I meant, instead of turbo'ing the car, go and drift it on track and do so until you feel it needs another 100+ hp cause they drift pretty shit hot as the engine comes, alot of good drivers can vouch for that man ;)

Hi, I'm thinking of getting an Mx-5 as a daily. I want something light that I can chuck about. hoping to have enough power to work the back end out on roundabouts. How do you find the stock MX-5 for this?

I use my 5 for a daily car use atm and it's pretty good, it's my first drift car and the first time I've been drifting so haven't really been throwing it about much but standard has a enough power to throw around, I find it really easy to spin out to, don't know whether that's my lack of skill or it's just easy, what suspension and bushes should I get? I've recently put some 15 xxr 527 on which look sweet

Yeah i hated spinning out in my 5. I think you'd benefit from a lot of time on track. Keeping momentum going and not relying on a cars power to keep sliding is key with standard engine mx5s

Watch some videos of guys in 130hp ae86s having it round track and you'll know what i mean. All about momentum, weight transfer and having a very heavy man foot.

Atm the steering is very sensitive, I recently crashed spun out at 60 and went straight into a curb (I was driving sensibly just hit some black ice) and I've looked under the car and see no visual damage but since that day it hasn't felt right, or stable at high speeds, and if I was to improve handling what bushes, suspension and stiffer ARBS?

You will more than likely have bent something, its very easily done with an mx5. Probably worth getting it properly looked over before you go spending money on it.

What this could of bent? The only thing that happened was the tire had blown up, but there was no other visual damage
