UK Insurance with Welded Diff

Have been looking at a modified MX5 that has a welded diff, coil overs and rack spacers.. Before I go to look and possibly purchase the car, I wanted to get an idea of how much insurance would be. It seems that insurers really don't like welded diffs as no one I've contacted will insure me in that car (They tell me it's because of the diff and nothing else).

Does anyone here insure a car with a welded diff and if so, what insurer and at what price?

Many thanks :D

Just say its an LSD. Insurance depends on your age, mileage, no claims bonus, where you live, your driving history. Its like asking "what size shoes do you wear so I can buy the same ones". It wont work.

I was only asking about price to see if there was a standout winner for cheaper or most popular or something... But ignoring that for now.
So the solution is to not declare having a welded diff and instead claim it's a LSD? That seems a little dodgy, and the last thing I'd want if I has a crash is them to refuse payout based on that.

I've only drifted with a welded diff.
Standard mx5 lsd's can be worn out causing them to open or not lock and it'll make learning so much harder. More likely to spit you into stuff too.
Welded diff is the same all the time, making the car consistent.

Rule No1 . Declare as little as possible to insurance. 'It came like that, I know nothing' goes a long way I find. In order not to pay out, they would have to prove you DID know it was modified.

I once had a 1984 audi 80 quattro with a 5 cylinder turbo engine. I got hit in the rear by some divvy bird when it was frosty. My insurance sent an inspector'who asked to open the bonnet to read the vin. When Greeted with a garrat GT30 he said, and I quote, 'oh, its got an induction kit '
I sais I bought it like that, and the claim went through.
