I think I'm going to have to give myself a lunch break to watch some of it :D. It's got the report on the testing dorikin did at Silverstone, and another 'soon to be favourite' D1 Gals section, all that on top of Round 4 Autopolis :smokin:

All pre-orders are packaged and ready to go, so stand by those letterboxs boys and girls :D

Ooooo Oooo, apparently it's got Autofest at Mondello in Ireland, that me James and Brett went over to compete in :smokin:

Phil,

I know its nothing to do with you, but how comes it takes so long from them to make PAL versions?

I got 18 3 weeks ago in the states, and 19 would have come out over a week ago too but I couldnt get back to the shop to get it.

Id rather have it NTSC with the same release dates as the states than wait ages.

Anything that can be done about it?

Probably because America is the biggest market for them outside of Japan and we know how impatient they can get!!

So could DW just be provided with NTSC ones too for people who cant be arsed to wait? That was really what I was getting at. That or tell em to hurry it up lol

Also probably because Japan uses NTSC so they don't have to re-encode it for superior PAL. :)

Lee, you're right, it shouldn't take significantly longer, even with the PAL re-encoding. The delay at the moment is just the result of a learning process and will be sorted out very shortly :)
The US guys have been producing the DVDs a while now so they've streamlined the process and can do it very quickly.
The D1 corp UK guys are working hard on this at the moment as they're aware it's an issue. They hope to have things on track very soon and are aiming to have vol 20 out (with the D1 exhibition round) well before Christmas

Japanese region 2 dvds work here right?
yeah, but not in all devices.
Lots of people use PS2s and Xboxes to play DVDs for example and unless those are chipped they're region specific and tell you to bugger off with region 2 stuff.
Then you've got the NTSC problem, which again, is fine on a lot of devices, but plays black and white, flickery or not at all on older bits of kit.

Lee, I believe the PAL conversion, subtitles and disk mastering are now all done in the UK. It is a learning process, but the guys are very quickly getting up to speed :)

Are you sure about that? Region 2 is region 2, whether it's from Japan, the UK or Belgium, therefore there's no reason why a Jap R2 DVD won't play in a UK R2 PS2/Xbox...

Unless I'm missing something?
