Wall / clip proximity and points

Up until recently, i always thought that the closer you got to a wall or clip - the more points you got..... and that actual contact lost you points (unless it was a graze that didnt damage the car).

(I know that wall taps look great and make for an entertaining show) - but moreso at practice or show days where the car is worth <5K and isn't a super pro car worth 35K+

Was that ever the way it was, or is there a different judging style for say D1 & FD v's drift cup for example?

Ya.... weird question i know! :wack::euge:

Unless you're in the drivers briefing you're not gonna know exactly what the judges actually want. I don't think that D1, FD and Drift Cup use the exact same judging criteria...

Ian. :)

That's a fair, logical response. I guess to rephrase the question.... what would the majority of judges want - contact, or very close proximity?
