Hey all,

I just got my S13 Facelift model and unfortunatly its misssing a bolt or two from the manifold and its blowing a good one!! Sounds like a V8 american car!!!! :euge: Can anyone help me out with some?? I have some cash so just let me know cheers

Also how hard is it to replace the big ends in these?? I just wanna do it as a precaution whilst the engine is out?? :smash:

Cheers

Ollie :D

You mean from the exhaust manifold ?? I just went to the shop and bought me some Stainless bolts :) Put some coppergrease on the 'tap', bolt it on and gogo!
Unless the gasket is blow out (or worn). Better to get a new one from nissan and put it on then.

Depending on how rusty the bolts are, it's a fuck job to remove the exhaust manifold (And quite frustrating since there are like 2 bolts that won't go on easily!). But since you have your engine out, it's not that hard I reckon!

Can't help you with the big-ends, you could find something on the sxoc forum i guess :)

cheers,

can get proper copper ones from local car shoppie! only quid or two!

big ends not too bad a prob, aslong as hasnt eaten into crank.

aint difficult just time consuming, as need to drop front subframe and go up thro sump :)

I think i am going to replace all studds so that i know that they are ok, i will see how it sounds after that, oha nd replace gasket!

Andy Bird tried to reply to your PM but your inbox is full LOL

Umm i suppose but as the engine will be out i would prefer them to be done then?? as if one goes with engine in it means having them out again, i can always take it to Cylinder Head Services in northampton and get them to remove and replace it?? LOL

PLUS GAS ALL THE WAY< NOTHING STAYS IN WITH THAT!!! LOL

None of the bolts snapped when i removed them after sitting there for 13years ;)

Make sure you put a lot of WD40 on the bolts before you start removing them.

Oh and while the engine is out, I'd change the gasket right away! It's just a few quid for a new one, and it will save you a lot of time and effort! Changing those gaskets with the engine in the car is frustrating...

ai, i suppose, just a warning i was always forced to take, but on the engine i have now it needed some studs changed over and were fine.

but then i did love wd40 and plenty of it :)
