Speed and gears do you take each corner at at silverstone i know there will be a diferance with learners and pro's but was just intrested as i would really like to enter the club man class on the last event of the d1 just it seems very hard to tell from the grand stand

They use a speed gun, but it's used mid corner as your actually drifting, so usually reads a max of 60ish.. When I initiate the drift into the 1st corner it's between 70 and 90mph on the clock..

I was entering in the S14a at about 85, 3rd gear.

so as a first time drifter i would be entering at about 45 in 2nd

For the first couple of goes, but it doesnt take long to start going in using 3rd.

There were a few first timers last time.

i have hoooj problems getting car to go sideways over 50mph it just has to much grip and not enough power maybe im not trying hard enough

Try turning in the brakes, you carry a lot of speed into the first bend.

Naaaah, the faster you're going, the easier it is to get sideways using proper weight shifting techniques, rather than just booting it with loads of lock coming out of Halfords car park...

I was going at the top of third in the Piazza (about 85-90), flat out from the start no let up, just to try and get enough momentum to carry some sort of drift through the corner. Doesn't help when it cuts out on you mid-corner either though (fuel starvation)...
