I was looking at getting a set of Rotiform RSE in 17"x9j ET30 for my E36 sedan but I don't want the tires to rub on the arches, so I was wondering if they will go with the current 225/45 tires that I have. Also, I don't want the front wheels to hit anything while turning.

I'm not using spacers or anything like that atm, and would prefer like to keep it that way. The car is lowered a little bit with coilovers (only enough that the tire doesn't even go inside the arches pretty much).

Current wheel setup is 17"x8j front and 17"x8.5j back (style 68 wheels), all on 225/45 tires.

A quick google puts your Style 68s with a range of Offsets, would be worthwhile finding out what your fronts are!

For your rears - 17x8.5 et 50 225/45R17 vs 17x9 et30 225/45R17:

You gain 13.7mm on the inner arch/away from strut, but poke 26.4mm more.
Worth checking these measurements against your car to see if this works.

Thank you for the info, wasn´t aware of that website

But now i'm even more confused about my front wheels...I can only find that style in 7.5j or 8.5j as you said, but i´m also pretty sure that the last time they were out we saw 8j marking on the front and 8.5j marking on the rears o_O gonna have to check that out again...if they are indeed 8j I would assume an ET of 45 (give or take a mm) as it would be a middle-ish ground from the 7.5 and 8.5

There's a couple of errors on that site that I've noticed before, so I tend to use it as a guide only when planning future wheel choices etc :)
BMW are pretty good at making sure their offsets and widths are easy to find so you're all good!

Just worth keeping willtheyfit.com in mind whenever you find what your current spec is :)
