Hi all,

I just built a E92 BMW 335i N54 Drift Car. I starting to test it at Essex Arena as a first steps.
But i miss the tyre smoke very much. I try checking the calendars at Rockingham, Lydden Hill, Santa Pod, but no luck. Essex and Norfolk Arenas not the track what i imagine to drifting on.
Where else can i be looking at except here? I am from London and DriftLand is far far away :( But i will go up there one day :)
Any suggestion are big help!
Cheers

Starting place for a BMW driver is normally straight into the back of someone else.. arf.

How new are you to it mate? And whats up with Norfolk arena? Its great for learning and its a good bunch of people down there. Probably a good start if you are a beginner, we cant all start on the full circuits.

Hi MaccyD,
I had a BMW M3 for drifting before and regularly drifting with a 330ci in Hungary. But this N54 are a bit diffrent because the twin turbo and completly diffrent on the track. I had a good test day at Essex Arena with out any problem. The car handle brilliantly but i still have to get use to it.
So i am not a beginner and because i build the car my self and cost me a lot, i am very carefull with it.
I will practice on small tracks first and than go out on the good one.
But i feel stupid a bit when i turn up with my 10k car at a place where scrap yard drifters the kings ;)

Hi Docwra,
The car spec is a 3.0 twin turbo with catles down pipe and i removed the 2nd cats as well. New charge pipe with a single 2 stage blow off valve and dual intak cone filter, racing bms ecu back flash program with a JB4 G5 anti lag software. Oil Catch tank attached, 30 row oil cooler, extra cooling fans, cooling pipe shortened, water and oil thermostat removed. Inline fuel pump with a trunk mounted fuel cell. Roll cage, bucket seat, 4 point harness, hydro hand brake with an extra brake caliper welded to the back disc, welded diff. 3 point rear diff brace, lower brace kit for the subframe, and clip on bumpers, and finally a Wisefab front steering lock angle kit.

Your more than welcome on one of our days. We do events at Birmingham and Teesside. We always keep the numbers super low so you get loads of seat time and we have professional instructors that help to coach you as the day goes on.

Blimey, someone isnt fucking about here - I guess that what, 420hp or so? Got any pics? :)

Was the oil cooler kit specific to the N54 and if so, where did you get it from?

Get a build thread up ASAP interested to see the car

I used to own a manual 335i e92

Good for 350hp with a few mods, even more if you push it...

Stay away from closed circuits - you hit a wall and you're fucked.

Go to the drift practice days usually held at air fields lots of over run!

I would invest in a trainer who can sit with you rather than learning as you go... It's like learning to drive without an instructor, you'll pick up bad habits

Good luck - Be active on the forum and make some local friends here who will do meets with you and also teach you I'm 600 miles away though

A fucking trainer. Hahahaha

Guy seems to know what he's on about, unlike some on here.
