Which is more competitive - S-body OR 350z/370z?

Hi everyone, just wanted to get people’s thoughts on what they think is the more competitive drift platform - any s13, s14, s15 OR 350z/370z? Has anyone drifted both platforms?

Looking at BDC's past champions, it appears that a Z car has never won the pro class.

Hi, I believe that the BDC layout of the tracks is more appealing to lighter chassis. The z is a great chassis but it is heavier than the S. The rain and the tight corners does not help the heavy cars. My opinion but would really appreciate some conversation.

Interesting, I didn't think about it from a track layout perspective. I agree, the extra weight seems a real disadvantage. Chris Forsberg's 370z is around the 'low 2900s' (lbs) so a bit above 1315 kg, which I thought isn't too bad considering that's including the driver and a ballast as they have a minimum weight rule of 2900 lbs to qualify. Would be great to see how competitive a 370z on a weight diet could be in the BDC.

I’ve only ever properly drifted my 350z so I don’t really have anything to compare it to but I do like the way it drifts, it’s quite controllable when the rear starts to slide and the stiffness of the chassis out of the box feels great. I'm eager to experience how it compares to an S-body. Would love to compete in the BDC some day when I’m a better driver which is what made me question whether I would do it in the 350z or change to an S-body since it's a more proven platform. But with S-body prices rising, it’s now possible to get a 370z for less money than an s15 spec R, and in a lot of cases, less than a spec S and s14s. And of course, the 350z is well below them all in terms of price.
