why cant i checkout/order online?????

every time i pick my items and options etc.....they go to my basket ok, but when i click the checkout tab the next page just tells me that i have no items in my basket.....!!!! WTF is going on? how do i get around this? has to be something in the settings of the laptop,this has been going on for some time now and i need to get it sorted. till now i'v had to hop onto another pc in the house when ever buying from DW but that pc is no longer here, so need to find out how to get this working. i know i could just ring in and order but thats not the point. pluss i'd spend much more money on here if this facility was working.....
can anyone help me out please?
 
I haven't come across this issue before - are you able to log into your account? Does this make a difference?
Which browser are you using?
 
yeah i can sign in to my account. just lookng into there and i noticed that when i sign in to my account all is good then as soon as i click onto say for eg. driftworks adjustable arms......when that page opens i noticed in small grey writing up near the top of the screen it says "you are not logged in, you can log in or create an account".
when i close out of the web site and return and go to forum it remembers me and says hello thegosson etc....... and when i go to shop from there, the items i'm trying to buy are there again in my cart. but it all goes pete thong when i try to checkout from there.
 
when i log in to the forum first then go to the shop it shows my items in the basket, but when i go to buy the stuff it tells me theres nothing in the basket and that im not signed in.
so when i go to the shop and log in, it says hello thegosson and all that, but my cart shows empty now, so when i click on anything like to look through the products it just signs me out straight away . cant even get to the stage of putting stuff into my basket then........... tis a mad one. i remember before that when i went to sign into the shop it used to open up a in a new page/window, and i thought that this was where the problem was coming from but i changed some setting ages ago and it stoped it opening it in a new window alright but still keeps loging me off straight away.
in a way its probably a good thing because id be broke buying stuff off yez. but from your end of things its not good for buisness.
 
Do you have cookies enabled in your browser settings? Or have you changed any security settings recently?
 
I havn't changed any security settings at all, but in saying that i could never order off your site using this laptop. what should my cookies and secuity settings be set at to enable me to buy off here?
 
To start with ensure cookies are enabled. Do you have any issues with the forum and/or any other online stores?
