Looking to start drifting, 23 year old technician, long story short I built a 323 e36 got carried away and made it too pretty never even got it on track...... But it was pretty.....

Anyway it's going to be drift/daily only live 15 mins from work, issue I have which has been covered I'm sure so many times the old search bar hasn't given me a definitive answer, my 323 used to drink a lot, caning it round a track I'd imagine it would be terrible, I'd like a 318i loon but some say they're underpowered, some say they're alright would i notice a massive fuel difference on a drift day over the 323 compared to a 318i or are the 4 bangers just turd???

Cheers beeeeys

You can skid a 318 easily enough, fuel consumption over a day isn't going to be miles apart.

but if you really like the 323 you'd probably be pretty gutted if you bent it up on track.

you will start with the 318 and realise you should have gone for the 323/325/328..

the 1.8 will drift but will need alot of stick

saying that you could always swap the engine out.

He means the 323/325 might drink £10-£15 more fuel over the day, but if you get through several sets of tyres a tenner is neither here nor there.

Thats assuming you don't welly the rear quarter into something solid as well.
