XE86: Rollcage getting there

Kind people at BTB Exhausts have CNC bent up my main loop, door bars and windscreen bar and handed the car back to me. My job is to fabricate the plates that the cage will be welded onto. My friend Steve (wanabeedrifter from here) will hopefully be making the bits out of 3mm steel for me. Then it's all going back to BTB to be properly fitted, welded in and braced up GT styleeeeee

We're boxing the rear struts and there will be bars going from main loop to struts and re-inforce ready for coilovers. Quite trick bits going on the cage. Can't wait til it's done.

Sweet - the cardboard templates going to work there man - bestest way to an uber cage. I guess you are checking da regs (prob MSA bluebook is best) to make sure you platforms are the minimum size required ? I guess you are going to gusset the main runs of the cage to the a/b/c pillars ?

Dont you go getting no welder slag on my lucky seat now will you Mr James LOL. Can you ask those nice peeps at BTB if they want to be extremely nice and make me my F20 exhaust manifold without butt raping my wallet ? after seeing yours they look like they know there stuff real good.

Hey Brother Ian, I did ask them for a price but it scared me! I think they said £700 but I'm not sure. Either way it was pricey! Yeah in a Jamie style....Lots of gussets! It's gonna be the tits when it's done brother Ian. I have done it all to blue book specs, not D1 specs!

Sweet - thats not as bad as I thought man.

Once the motor is in (should be before the end of July) I'll have to get the car shipped down to them for a measure up I think (where abouts are they ?) - if they can knock that price down a teeny bit I could be interested - a good quality manifold is hard to find and yours is all sexy.
