1987 maserati bi turbo

LOL

My Dad was getting one of these as his company car when they were new - a 228 iirc !!!

The clock in the middle of the dashboard was a £3k option that almost all of them have !!!!

I wasnt going to post on here mate, but since you are making me out to be some kind of timewaster I will.

Yeah, he came over last night - the bodywork on the car was better than I thought, it sounds lovely and the underneath is solid. Yer man had a sale right there - I had the money in my pocket and was ready to go. :)

Took the car out for a drive and noticed he wasnt going too quickly, so got in and drove myself. Few "slight" points:

Theres about 3/4 of a lock from dead centre before the wheels actually start turning. I could probably overlook this but coupled with .......
One of the front brake calipers has no effect at all. You tap the brakes and the car veers well onto the other side of the road - you would steer round it, but seeing as it takes about 0.5 seconds of turning before it does anything, its fcuking lethal - heaven forbid something pulls out and you have to do an emergency stop

The worst bit was the engine though - he followed me back to the A14 and in my N/A Saab 9000 I had to keep slowing down so he could keep up. The car boosts up to maybe 1/4 of the gauge and then hits a fuel cut - its glacial at the moment. I doubt if it has actually been recently tuned and had the cambelt replaced at all, as no garage would leave it running like that. My friend tried to claim it was overboosting, but it actually has to boost first before it hits the fuel cut - it wasnt even doing that.

Keiran didnt have the MoT certificate either, and seeing as the brakes and the leak from the fuel pump were on the last fail sheet and hadnt been fixed, I wonder if it does actually have MoT at all.

Im sorry mate - I thought you were a top bloke, and really did feel bad about not taking it, but I told you more than once that Id buy it only "if it was as described". A Maserati that cant keep up with a knackered Saab 9000, has the dodgiest steering Ive ever come across (and its not "an Italian thing") and is all over the road every time you brake is not what you described to me.

Im sure it could be a lovely motor if someone put a bit of time in and sorted out the boost and the steering, but I dont have the time or the inclination. I do hope it does sell to someone who will take the time to sort it out, I really do :)
Its a £600 Maserati at the end of the day ;)

And once again, dont make me out to be the bad guy - I didnt have to give you fcuk all but thought Id give you £25 as you seemed a good bloke - I asked you more than once before you came down if there was anything else wrong with it and you said no. Thats fcuking bullshit and you know it mate, and in fact Id say it was you that wasted my time

i didnt say your the bad guy, im just outta pocket fuck face! its all good im sure the subject will come across conversation next time we meet.:smash:
i feel like posting up a picture of the mot. i think you just didnt have the money, cos you ONLY had £500 on you,its all good i need to sell the car not get pissed off with you mate.

I assure you he had the money mate :) but rule no.1 about car buying is if it doesnt feel right then dont do it, so if a few things dont tally up in someones mind they walk away, no doubt someone will have it though. :)

live and learn...

Sounds like you were the timewaster silvia69, should really just let him know about the little things rather than thinking you can make him obliged to take it off you just because you drove down there.

If he asked you the other problems, and you said none, then it's your bad. And if you can take a picture of the MOT, then maybe you should have taken it with you ;)

no offence guys but i wasnt complaining at the fact he didnt buy it! i meant that the mot was left on my bed,i was in a rush to get there you see boys. and i shared some goooooood green with the man.;) :smokin: he was a nice dude anyways, and g master was there! a bon us really as your a cool guy aswell! and we didnt even see each other at dwtb!:smash:

Fair enough mate, like I said I thought you were a good bloke. Your post doesnt exactly do me any favours though, does it ;)

I dont care about the MoT now dude, but you said it yourself - its better to be honest and there were three pretty big things you didnt mention to me. No hard feelings though man, and as I say I do hope someone picks it up - why dont you stick on ebay, or try and sell it the the feller with the spare parts if you need it off your drive??

Its a bit of a scary project for anyone to take on, as at least with an S13 I know I can get everything and how much it would cost - with a Mazzer theres not even a guarantee the parts are out there in the first place. Having said that, it would be a fooking beauty with a bit of money spent on it

P.S: Ill return the green favour soon - the delivery I had on Friday was schweeeeet  :smokin:
