The rims help, but (I mean this as a friend), you could do with some gloss lavished over your dated old panels 
You should buy some stick on vynil from the hardware shop and see what looks best, maybe even do the whole car in woodgrain, that could be interesting, would really show it's age then! 
(just incase there's some hidden thread rules)
