A few types.
Throttle bypass via a valve or valves.
Throttle kicker (or on some GrpN cars throttle held open on a stop permanently- Not as bad as it sounds!).
Directly in to the exhaust manifold.
Or no bypass at all (ie bullshit and makes the sound and no noise, ie most based road cars with 'anti-lag'.
Basically, regardless of type, the bigger the bypass the better it works, and no fancy electronics or anything else will help, it's all about the amount of air, that's always the limiting factor.
