BMW 735i 5-speed Manual, with rare Sport options, MOT & Tax, £700 ono

G reg BMW 735i saloon

Superb VIP drift and tow vehicle, will pull just about anything effortlessly and legally - huge torque from the 3.5 litre engine and excellent towing capacity

Full grey leather interior

Carpets & trim (grey/black/wood) all in very good condition

Decent Blaupunkt CD/Radio

Remote central locking and alarm

All electrics work (including front seats!)

Full function 18-button on-board computer with dash and instrument panel display and remote function switch on indicator stalk! Displays mpg, range, average speed, time, date, temperature, stop watch, timer, etc etc etc

This is a very rare factory manual WITHOUT Aircon, I'm told that it was specially ordered without A/C and with the following Sport options:

- Electric front sport seats (buckety Recaro style)
- Limited Slip Differential
- Sport alloy wheels (though it had Alpina wheels on it which I sold)
- M-Tech steering wheel (replaced with a Momo as I found the M-Tech wheel too large)

The car drives and handles very well. It drifts amazingly well and is incredibley agile for a large car!

4 months MOT and 4 months tax

Dark metallic maroon

No rust bar a bubble on the bonnet (easy fix or just get a new bonnet for £30 from the scrappers!!)

Rolled wheel arch lips for fitting VERY wide wheels (currently has 17 x 10J ET15 rears with 265/40 tyres!)

Electric sunroof (tilt & retract)

Engine is totally standard M30 3.5 litre. These engines are chain-driven and famous for being bomb proof and lasting forever. One of BMW's strongest, and the basis for the incredible E34 M5 engine (S38)

This one has covered over 169,000 miles and is still super smooth and quiet, no top end rattles as can be common if not looked after.

210hp, 225 ft.lb of TORQUE

Runs great on normal 95 RON unleaded (no need for super)

I've replaced all the inlet and vacuum hoses and joins with new ones from BMW

It's had a recent cap and rotor arm

Oil and filter changed every 3,000 miles in my ownership

Gearbox and diff fluids replaced in January

Bad Points

Body is straight and pretty good overall for a 1989 car, but there is a blemish/fade on the drivers side rear quarter and the drivers door has been replaced with one of a slightly lighter colour, but easily painted to match! Underneath is excellent as are the sills with no rust problems and I don't think she's ever been welded

Chrome exterior trim has been painted matt black (looks much better!) though paint is now peeling in places so it needs to be re-done.

There is a knock from the rear suspension - suspected rear top mount or rear anti roll bar bushes/links worn (cheap part through GSF or Euro car parts). Still drives fine though, just a littly noisy over bumpy roads

Front leather seats are worn on the side bolsters (as always!), though a bit of grey leather dye/conditioner would help matters.

Exhaust is rattly at times/certain revs - easy fix, though I was going to eliminate the centre section with some straight through piping for the 6-cylinder symphony!

Needs better speakers for the stereo!!

Overall this car has been 100% reliable, superb fun and the most comfortable car I have ever had by miles. Long journies are effortless. She simply devours the miles!

It's not particularly expensive to run either, I get over 30mpg on a run and even 25mpg around town... you can literally drive it around lazily at 1,000 rpm as the engine has so much torque! And as stated parts are cheap from GSF and the M30 is so simple and strong it is very rare to have any problems and there are plenty with 300,000 miles plus on the clocks...

Would make a superb tow car - you'd hardly notice you were pulling something, and towbars are only £100 NEW off of eBay!

Price is £700ono, coming with standard BMW BBS cross-spoke 15" alloys with decent tyres (NOT the Borbets as they cost me a fortune, but will sell them with the car for £395 extra including the tyres)

I can send more photos by email to anyone interested. She's fair dirty in these pics, looks much better after a wash!

Yes it is one cool car. And fast. And big.

Yeah, I live miles away too (Sussex), but buy it anyway ;)

Brother Will, its awesome... Is this one i saw? Looks uber cool on the borbets :)

Yes mate the very same one as you were drooling over a while back ;)

I've had it since November last year and it has been a great car. Like my R32 (which is now sold) I'll certainly miss it, but I need the money right now :(

I'm sure you'll miss it, Mister Will  That would have been perfect for my next tow car but I've just spent all my available money on an R32 :(.

Good luck with the sale though-someone will be getting a bargain

damit if i didnt have the mr2 i would have had this on my drive way .. getting sick of the solid, rattling , noisey cars as a daily driver

My thoughts exactly. Could be tempted by this as a temp car for a while if the soarer goes soonish.

Haha, yes, it is indeed a big, fast, comfortable pimper, but you guys may be over-looking how good a drift car it is! It's actually amazing!! Ask Steveo, JC, Bon, Sid...

It'd look AMAZING.

Stuff is available, it's the same as the E34 suspension wise.

Sid's 735i has sensibley cut standard springs and handles really well, considering the shocks are stock. And it looks incredible lowered, though I wouldn't go as low at the back... maybe 1.5 coils of the rear and 2 off the front.

And Sid's goes sideways very nicely and looks awesome doing so, as does mine, we really need to live out the twin drifting 735i manual dream... Man I will miss this car
