It was a hot day but you put on a nice show i loved the way you was doing the figure of eight, come close to the barrier a couple of times  Good for filming. You made me want to get a skyline and thrape it around wheels. Cant wait till the next one.
P.S. Have you got any pics with me and my mates in the background with a car killing it and where can i buy a video of the day.

I enjoyed Bruntingthorpe on the sunday too! How much fun was that! Especially chasing that Viper in Lees RX7!!

Niceeeee!!!
Brooksie what camera setup is that for the one on the outside of the car (the bullet cam) I have just brought a mount but it is for my DV cam and I havn't got that extendable arm either.

Can not wait to see the finished thing, I would love to be able to do that kind of filiming

Been nosing around there forum today. They are getting worse MPG than me too. Yay :D

I think Jay must of had a reasonable view of me going after it, I think the Viper went past on the left right out of the pit so I went round on the right to go after it :p

Yep that right mate! Jay and kenny were just nodding at each other apparently as we went in pursuit! Im amazed how it did not pull away down that back straight. A quick motor you got there lee! Would have been even quicker if you had not had me as balast in it! :D

its me day job as well .. kind of a busmans holiday all this filming :D ... i work for a rather large well known broadcasting corporation ;) .. just do this kinda stuff in me spare time.

Morf the kit i used for those external shots was a Sony CVX1 mini cam linked to a Sony DSRV10 portable recorder. For other external shots i just bought a couple of the cheapest crappest domestic Mini DV cameras on the market (i think they were £280 each). The grip equipment i use is all "ARRI" .. you can't get better and i've never had any of the mounts come off a car .. even at 208mph on the C1 highway in Japan !! The arm is called a Magic Arm and is primarily designed for mounting lights in awkward positions but for the likes of mini cameras it can offer lots of nice angles. Hague do lots of this kind of stuff, i've never used the hague equipment tho but i believe its meant to be pretty damn good.

Other cameras we used for the main filming were a SONY DSR PD170 and finally a SONY DSR PD570 (with a conversion so it can take 35mm lenses) .. the 500 isn't very practical for the likes of the Driftworks shoot though as its a full on shoulder camera.

Have to say was very impressed with Matt's Cannon XL1's .. bloody lovely cameras :)

Cheers for the reply
It is the ARRI mount I have, infact it looks the same as the one on Phil's car. I have been looking at the bullet cams for a while now and the magic arm is definatly a must if I do decide to get one!

Thanks again for the reply it was very helpful  :D

Though for mounting cameras on the interiors for close ups n the like you can't beat a little mini cam and some plasticine :D :D

you can get shots like this then :)
