Budget Resprays?

I recently resprayed my car my self. (In a garage with a gas fire on 
) It made me apprecate the amout of prep and time that is required for a respray! I can see now where most of the cost goes... Time add to that materials and overheads and you need to be charging a fair amount to make a living. I know a fair few people to the bodywork trade, all of them work dam hard and just making a living not exatly rolling in it.

It sounds like you've done your home work so go for it. At the end of the day if he's putting a few hundred quid in his pocket doing something he enjoys then good for him! 9/10 people don't actually know the difference between house of kolor and any other paint anyway (they've just heard us saying it's what we use on Pimp My Ride) so you'll be able to talk them round to something a bit more reasonably priced and easier to paint.
