Burton Baron Snowboard

Ok deffo wide, only time i've ridden a non-wide board I nearly broke my mates back trying to spray him with snow and the bindings hit the snow bad times.

Im going on Monday the 14th, basically in feb we've got about 15 of us going out to see my girlfriend (good excuss for another holiday) and about 4 of them have never ski'd/boarded before so told them to get some lessons, so thought i'd come try some boards only bummer is there'l be no jumps etc but it'll give me a rough idea of what they ride like.

Might try and make a friday night session when I get the new board though.

Evening or day on the 14th? Might pop up for a session if it's the evening with a mate of mine. I'll be bringing my Unity up if I do go so you can see what I mean about stiff :D

Not sure yet as they havent booked there sessions but guessing afternoon as its cheaper than the evening, how hot/cold is it in there ? Do i need all my gear or just boarding trousers ?

Some info about Hemel for you.

Monday nights are Ski Club race night, so half the slope will have poles all the way down for skiers to do their slalom thing, the rest of the slope will be chopped up, leaving moguls, lumps and bumps everywhere. I recommend for a monday evening, ride after 9pm once the skiers have cleared out.

Tuesday evenings I believe are also for ski racers but you are better off checking.

Weds and Thurs evenings have a mini freestyle park, normally a couple of rails and a small kicker.

Friday evening is full freestyle night.

Saturday and Sundays in the daytimes are hell, so I would avoid altogether.

its normally about -2/-3 degrees in there, and depending on how well you handle the cold, I normally wear my snowboard pants, a t-shirt and my snowboard jacket, but in the past I have worn snowboard pants, a t-shirt and a hoody. Make sure you have gloves too !!!

Cheers for that chaps think this has turned into a snowboarding thread rather than selling my board thread LoL

I seem to generate a shit load of heat I usually only wear boarding trousers t-shirt and thin boarding coat, been wearing that in -30 so think i'll be ok in probably just Boxers LoL

Ben, have you ridden the Salomon Acid 158 ? A friend is going to lend me one for the 14th as well to try out he said he liked it but said it was very soft but he liked that for jibbin around etc .

Soft board for jibbin' + big rider = broken board mate. I know that from experience.

On another note I've got a mate who might want your Baron.

hmmm true but then I think your a bit of a nutter on the slopes where as I think I'd be ok with most of these boards. Going to head back down to surface 2 air as was promised a call from the brighton store but never got one, typical.

Good stuff let me know if he does, was going to pop it up on ebay after ive chosen the board i want after the 14th
