Canadian jzx100 Mark ii. A cliff notes build

Did you use eBay rear diff bushes? If so did they fit well?
Yes I did. The front ones fit okay the rear ones were pretty poor. I had to cut one of them down so it would actually clamp the original rubber bushing solid. These were mistakenly the insert style not the full replacement like I had intended to buy so I can’t comment on the full replacement ones

Made a drift sandwich on Sunday. Cars getting overs and a kit sooner than I expected

How are you finding the PMC adapter kit? I’m currently researching online and that looks like a good possibility along with using the bmw box. Great write up so far

Overall it worked great. Was a bit confusing on which pressure plate would work as the bolt pattern on the flywheel matched up to a couple different bmw plates I tried but the depth spacing wasn’t right on all of them. Originally I tried a complete e36 clutch kit but it didn’t engage the disc. An e46 m3 plate and an e36 m3 disc ended up being the right combo for me. Other than that it bolted up great and it works really well in the car. Highly recommend this for Toyota’s just due to the cost of it being so low compared to the other options out there to manual convert a jzx

Right oh, it’s been ages and since I’ve boycotted social media figure I might as well update this to keep the 3 people following along up to speed.

Long time ago I painted the coilpack cover with some wrinkle black, minor but like the look

I picked up some black housing GX100 headlights a long while back and got them fitted with custom conversion harness’s so they’re plug and play with the JZX headlight wiring

the intercooler piping was a mess when I bought it and the core itself was just hanging there by one thin little bracket so I made some bee proper mounts and welded them onto the lower rad support and made one piece stainless piping, I seem to have lost the pictures or the new piping but it was not very pretty anyways so we’ll just ignore that

A friend of mine started doing extended LCA’s for these cars so I had him whip me up a pair of +50mm arms. There’s a photo of the front camber before and after installing these below

was off work on an injury for a couple months but was going nuts laying in bed all day so as soon as I could stand and walk around again I decided to get creative with the faded roof on the car. Went for a cheap and easy low rider influenced design. Nothing crazy but first time using a proper paint gun and I had a pretty good time messing around with it

Took it out to a friend of mine’s shop where we’re allowed to drift in the back lot, by the end of the night I had chucked the crank pulley off the car and overheated it to the moon blowing out a coolant line, left the car there for the night and picked it up the following day with the truck and trailer.

Fast forward exactly one week, after sourcing and replacing the crank pulley and sorting out the blown coolant line I went back to the same friends shop for my redemption. Which quickly turned into another head ache when I went a little too deep against the back fence and did a tail light delete on a steel pole. After a bunch of banging and yanking on it with my truck to get the trunk to work properly again I decided it was time to address the broken over fenders my friend had sitting around for a while.

Got them very poorly slapped together and on the car in time for another drift day, that went well with no issues or new damage (shocker right)

borrowed some wheels from a friend and started working on blending the front fenders and flares together. The beginning of a long body refresh the car needs as every single panel is cracked or broken.

that pretty much quickly sums up where this things at. Slowly trying to get the body work done so I can re paint it again and make it presentable. Then if I decide to keep it a roll cage and some engine work will be in the cards for next year

Car is looking mean!

Tinfoil JZX's aren't good for polehunting, but good that you got a nick for body and paintwork.

Keep us updated :)

Made progress on the front fenders, almost happy enough with them so I’ve diverted all attention to the rear overs as they are a nightmare to say the least. I’m not sure if it’s the overs themselves or how much I’ve had to cut out of them to fit my radiused arches but man getting the door to quarter gaps to work and not foul on each other is a pain in the ass. I’ve never fought a set of panels more in my life

Progress will be slow but steady as I go back to work tomorrow from my holidays. Hopefully my next post will be with the overs and the kit primed up
