I've had one for drifting.
The drive shafts are your biggest problem. There shit. Really shit.
Best option is to use a 320d back end.
Petrol gear ratios can be too savage for it but the 320d ratio is a nice step and the 320d drive shafts are half the price, 10x as strong and 10x as easy to come across.
Other problem with 330d is back brakes mean smallest wheels can run is 17s which with standard power is kinda hard to get going in dry
With 320d back end can run 16s (can't mind if 15s fitted too.
But to put the 320d back end on u need to cut and shut the prop (or can change the flange on the diff but easier with prop and only have to do it once)
