Kaaz diffs are excellent. infact anything with 10+ clutch plates in is excellent:) for the type of drifting done in the UK there is absolutely NOTHING to choose between most mechanical LSD's except cost and availability, for £450 you can't go wrong!

might have to try one. does anybody in the UK run a kaaz?

if you read about halfway down the previous page you'll see that Will ran one before the axle broke. thats more of a 'toyota dairylea spec halfshaft' problem than a problem with the diff though:)

like I said before, just deciding if you want 1.5 or 2way is going to have more effect than choosing between manufacturers.

Sorry, just spaced out for a moment.

So i've done a little reading about the 1.5way and 2way diffs but am still quite confused. as a complete drift novice, am i gonna get better results out of a bisexual diff or a bi-curious one?

it depends on your style I'm afraid. some people like the aggression and predictability of a 2way, others are more comfortable with a 1.5way. both still get the same result, its just a question of driver preference.

there are a few diffs which can be set between 1.5 and 2 way which may be a good idea to go for. its not easy to switch them though as it requires disassemly of the diff, but its easy enough to do in the course of a normal rebuild.

you have an S14 right? I'd just get used to that and learn to drift it in close to standard form, then think hard about how you'd prefer the car to act

I'll post a more comprehensive reply in a bit, but in conjunction with a motorsports diff builder we have developed a 600% stiffer viscous LSD for the S14 200sx and it totally rocks for drifting cost is £400 exchange

My viscous unit is with that very motorsports diff builder at the moment

I've got an unknown make 2 way in the R32 and it rocks  I had a play in it today and it's full of drifty goodness  :D

It only skips a bit compared to the welded diff I had, but locks up really well and makes me look a whole lot better than before (Though that's not too difficult  :) )

I just ordered a Kaaz 2 way from the States. Im over here on holiday and the plan was to get it delivered to the villa where Im staying and then drag it through customs on the sly...
Well, I didnt get it sorted in time, but Im gonna get one anyway...:)

Ill post up what I think as soon as its on and run in :)

I chatted to the guy (Nismo Freak on SXOC / Alan from SPL Parts) for a while about it. He said he drove a car with the Kaaz diff in it. It was as it came from the factory and the car drove OK - not as aggressive as he thought it would be, but you can change the order of the clutch plates (As and Bs) to make it more or less snappy :)
