DPD, thats a shame.

I've had problems with DPD recently and it's them not a sub as their depot is about 6 miles away and they come in DPD vans.

They said they couldn't deliver one day when the driver had driven past my house (I live on a fairly major trunk road) and couldn't stop by on the way back. I then spent over an hour at the depot whilst they tried to find my item.

I had a similar thing happen the next week and again spent lots of time sat in their depot.

Not a dig at DW at all, but DPD are not the best IMO...

I totally understand that an extremely small minority have had problems with DPD, but this will be the case with whatever courier we use, as unfortunately human beings have to be involved at some stage in the process.
We have used every major courier out there, and priority number one for us is choosing a courier that compliments our own highest level of service with rapid and efficient delivery. Our research has shown DPD are without a doubt the best courier out there, and not by a small amount

Like the name change mate!! Is that to be on the car this year? :p

Never had a problem with DPD myself and more to the point, Driftworks have been 100% spot on every time i've used them so they must know something!!!!

We need to think ourselves lucky Driftworks aren't using Home DN or parcelforce!!!!!!

I find the most annoying thing about DPD isnt their delivery system or when the deliver comes, its if there is any issue's you cant actually speak to another person about your it its all automated system's which personaly does my head in! Have only ever had one issue with them in the past but never with any Driftwork orders :)

To be fair were I work uses DPD to ship and 99.9% of the time their fine (although their drivers do have a tendency to try to throw fragile parcels from the far end of our warehouse into the back of the van). We haven't had anywhere near as many damage claims as when we used Parcel Force (they were managing to wreck well packed trays of canned dog food quite often) and their 30kg rate for us is great.

We are shipping out 20-30 parcels a day with them at the moment.

When something goes wrong it can be a nightmare however, you can get through to callcenters after about 40 minutes on the phone but you need to be lucky to get someone willing to take responsibility for a issue and get it resolved.

But other couriers have the same issues as well, the only courier that would stop me ordering from a site is Fedex... after having to claim one of our international parcels back from lost luggage as it had somehow got booked in a a suitcase...

DPD & HDNL are the 2 worst couriers I've had the pleasure of dealing with! Incompitent & useless, well up here at least, can't comment on other parts of the country. Oh yeah, and City Link....leaving £500 worth of car parts on my door signing for it themselves saying it was signed by "Porch" (I didn't realise my house could sign for things!). Luckily it never got nicked, but I was SSSSOOOOOOO tempted to just say I never got the parts, because after the company I ordered from would have claimed it back only City Link would be out of pocket. In the end I didn't do it, because I'm just not like that, but I did call up and give their head office and local depot manager an earful.

Hands down the best courier I have ever dealt with is FedEX, with UPS being a close 2nd, both always deliver when they say they will, never had things get lost, shipping from the US sometimes quicker than items I have ordered from the UK.

This is just my own personal experience though.

dont like fedex their the only ones to charge me import duty

not sure who driftworks use to send me stuff in the iom but its always here next day

Just a bit more customer Feedback. its not a issue at the minute hopefully get them tomorrow. so just a heads up i know its kind of "selfish" but its just my personal feedback.

For my own experince

Parcel force/Postoffice main depo pick up - 0.4 miles
City Link - 2 miles
Del sol/APC - 10 miles (but its near the city most peoples work etc so not to bad)

DPD - 70 miles.

Also for you to arrange a "safe place" to leave parcel they want you to leave a leaflet outside your house? obviously thats so everyone knows your not in? come rob us? epeiclly if you live on a main road.

Like i said just feedback - but ive never ever had this before - I almost always collect my parcels because im in work, i dont mind it. but 70 miles? Its only 70 miles because a couple of weeks ago i moves 12 miles closer to it!!! otherwise it would have been 82!

i still Love DW but arggggghhhhh i hope i get the shiz before the weekend. xxxx

Each carrier can be superb in some areas and shit in others, just depends how that section of the franchise is run. We use UK Mail and same story, some love em and some hate. My personal view is uk mail or dpd, about the same standard but all the rest are useless.

EVERY courier company has its share of problems, and there nearly all as bad as each other

DPD may have the odd problem but i can gaurantee you there still better than anyone else. especially city link

To be fair they delivered it today fine so no worries I was just in shock that it would be 70 miles to collect as I needed it. Thanks for the pressie to, cheered me up after my fire yesterday!

Maybe its the area.. Do you get next day delivery there Dunkz? We dont get it here as being 24miles from Aberdeen is classed as a 'Remote Area' - So even if you pay for Next day.. it takes 2/3.

The most annoying thing is.. Your parcel turns up in Aberdeen thurs night/fri morning.. you dont get it until Tuesday at the earliest.. Its a crock of shit. It takes 25mins to drive to aberdeen .. and thats what I always end up doing with everything I buy from Driftworks or anywhere online (big important items like coils etc) and tomorrow.. I have to drive in to collect new driver wings.. Or I dont get them till next week. Ace :) Not driftworks problem, Its due to living in the sticks!
