Drift car meet?

Really? Because the 3 people I know that do bdc don't go to meets, because their actually working on their cars? Or driving their cars on track practising, or working and earning money to fund the cars.

Not standing in a car park talking to people that have never drifted on a track about how cool doing roundabouts is, or wanking over some fwd crap on airbags

haha so you know 3 people in bdc so that must account for the other 90+ drivers?? i suppose you spend your entire life doing the above and nothing else?

and you might not believe this...... but tracks aren't generally open everyday in the evening and most people don't work evenings and weekends either. Of course people work on their cars in spare time but they do socialise too.

its great how you can be so small minded to assume that everyone who attends this type of thing doesn't work on their car, drift and attend practice days or earn money for the above by working.

don't get me wrong, you will find select groups that do all of the things you guys have mentioned above.

Just don't be so quick to stereotype everyone

Almost all people that attend car park meets and cruises are cretins, that have greasy faces, stink of weed and are about 18.

I got trapped in one when I went to the shop and 99.9% of cars were crap. Apart from a mint TommyKaira r33.

i loved a good meet up when ive had any drift car. They were usually always dailys. far as im concerned theres nothing wrong with meeting up with loads of like minded people and looking at their ideas, work and builds. I'd rather do that an odd evening here and there than sit behind my laptop telling people how shit it is. When i first started drifting i went to a few meets and met with people who i ended up becoming good mates with and we've all hit up drift days since. Go on fb and look for a local meet.

Yes there will be plently of flat peaked, skinny jeaned spotty kids in financed cars but you will find people into simular stuff. An tbh, you can tell someone who really drifts from someone who doesnt in a few seconds... 'yeah i've skidded maccy'ds Round about twice' = wasste of time... 'yeah ive done a couple of santapod / snet days' = worth the time to listen too.

Above all, get to a drift day and have a go.

I wouldn't really listen to anyone without actually being at an event and watching them drive lol. Some of the level of skill at practice days is scary, I'm not even good by any accounts by the advise given out is terrible sometimes.

But at least they are getting out there and learning. would anyone listen to someone in a knackered e36 in TK Maxx car park on a saturday night.

This is the main reason most people stay away to be fair, no-one wants to share the same air as those mouth-breathers - and they make up a good number of the people that go to meets.

Maybe I've been massively unlucky in all the meets/cruises/etc I've ever been to in my life, but all I've ever met is pretty much total mongos who talk a good drift but can't do shit.

Amount of retarded 'advice' people spout at actual drift days is bad enough, god help you talking to a 'drifter' at meet down your local supermarket.

I have nothing against learning, we all start somewhere and we all learn as we progress, I'm still learning and enjoy it

But the problem is some kind buys an s13, goes to one drift day, then decides that it's not his skill thats wrong he needs 600bhp, he then goes to these kinds of meets and goes "yea mate been at pod but need more power so going for 600" and "yea make sure to use a hydro a shit load and just mash the throttle constantly"

Then it's gospel....

it's appreciated mate, did some research on the events you mentioned, will be looking to get some seat time at each one over the next year. I went to Lydden Hill in decemeber was awesome, think RWYB will be next.

Cool, might see you at a DWYB soon. :)

As you can see, just as in the VW World opinions vary, lol.

Ian. :)

I've not really been skidding that long mate, mainly streeto and managed to get to an Arena practise day recently.

All I've got to say is: seat time. seat time. seat time.

Go to somewhere like Arena or Pod and get stuck in, I learnt A LOT and I was only on track for an hour or so due to car trouble.

Blackett - I went earlier this month, was real good fun. The jump from the play pens to the kidney was a shock, bit of help from a few e30 owners and marshall and I finally got the hang of it. Defo going to go again, hopefully get on the big track at some point.

2015 is all about
Seat time seat time seat time.. Oh and maybe some polybushed parts ha my engine mounts look bruised
