DWYB - Drift Practice Days at Santa Pod - 2014 dates and Info

Id imagine filling pot holes isnt as easy as packing them out with tarmac because it will just get ripped straight back out. Proberly have to replace quite a chunk to repair each one. Just drift round them

Double checking - 2 drivers 1 car is allowed but each driver has to pay for their pass individually at £70 each, correct? Planning ahead

i have a 200sx s14a with a shotgun exhaust, am i going to be too loud??

Probably.

When are they going to fill the pot holes?

They occasionally do fill the larger ones. The cold weather and constant drift abuse opens them up again and as well new ones. It is a never ending battle.

Pod management rarely come on to DW. Can i suggest that you voice your concern using this contact us form here:DWYB - Contact Us

As a regular customer we can hope that they take your's and other's feedback on board and thus make a more concerted effort to address the issue.

Yup.

see ya'll there peeps.

Also to Tbone455ci = There is no such thing as sessions at DWYB. Treat it more like open pit. You do skids, come off to let car cool down/change tires then you go for more skids. If its your first time you most likely be in the playpens or kidney pen so very little queueing between drifting, if you have done lots of skids elsewhere then you'll be queueing more as the top track is always busiest with waiting times between 10-20mins on busier days.
4 cars on track per time, roughly 5 mins or 4 laps drifting then off and normally 3-4 rows of cars in a queue.

Queues go down quicker if people listen to marshalls and dont smash into fences or walls trying to "RUN THE WALL/FENCE"

Hope that helps

Hi Insane 200

Thanks for the reply & the info, sounds real good!

I've done some drifting at Arena Essex on an oval track but they always wet it.

Want to practice transitions with a variety of bends, hopefully on a dry track....gonna be using my e30 :)

if you do go in the various 'play pens' then try not to stay in them for to long as unless you have decent cooling modifications you will find that your car will get pretty hot pretty quickly. personally id say 2 mins max then go for a nice -slow- drive down to the start of the drag strip to cool your car down. ive seen quite a lot of cars come straight out of a pen and join the back of the que then over heat.

if you have any questions or concerns on the day then pipe up at the drivers briefing in the morning or look for a marshall throughout the day, they can usually be spotted standing around wearing a high-vis or waving a flag.

Looking forward to Wednesday, I've done a few before but first time in my latest e36 and a mates first time ever. We're both in dark blue e36 coupes so feel free to pop over and say hi :)

Is there tyres available to buy at pod? Only ask as my car is very nearly ready but might be a push getting some tyres sorted. How many sets do most peeps go through in a day at pod? I know this figure is dependant on lots of things, just a rough amount.
Cheers

Just read the post properly, ooops sorry
