E21 for a 1st drifting car ?

E30 are over my price range too
What should i do ?
Btw its just gonna be a car ill learn on for the first time then i am planning for an e36 or an e46

Will it be cool with an m50b20 with a turbo ?

If you go for the DOHC M50 to FI it I recomend you to look for a M50B25 non vanos. They are extremely reliable engines, the DOHC head breaths better (than M20's) and are stronger due to the bigger displacement (than M50B20).
Nevertheless being a SOHC engine the M20 is very reliable also, have seen some quite considerable power get from M20s with FI on stock internals, going through serious abuse regularly and lasting for years.

An E21 will shit itself if you go near it with a turbo and without upgrading the rear axle. Swapping a rear axle is very difficult and probably a lot more expensive than buying an E30 in the first place which is 10x more suitable. Take my word for it, you only want to go to a standard 170bhp 2.5 M20 as in the E30 325i, its a simple swap and won't involve serious modifications to the car.

why and what e30 is worth £6000?
Buy a e36, everyday they come up for sale on facebook pages for sub £1000, all 325/328s. Perfect learner car

If you cant afford a e30, you cant afford to turbo anything..
