Edited: E36 4 pot, sort of low budget. Possible actual skids soon.

Cool wee project this, like the budget build style, need to find something myself and do the same!

Thanks man - appreciate the feedback. It isn't as budget as I would like - it's tipped over the 1K mark but it should be pretty capable and a barrel of laughs.

Awesome, good to see more updates. Let us know how the swap goes. Bet that'll be a bit peppier!

Cheers dude ! I will keep this updated. Mate has a spot at lynn for this Saturday but we need to get his Subframe poly bushed and back in first :O Yeah, should give it some more balls.

I just "found" a single mass flywheel on the M40 that was in my saloon before. (Fits on the M44)
Now I am trying to find someone who can make it lighter and balance it....

UPDATE

So I have been run off my feet with work but finally made some progress. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Still a non start (No spark for some reason) but i'll get it running this week - got a drift day next Saturday so let's see what happens.

Slowly buttoning it up

and in - ignore the foil tape shit - was playing about with something.

And done.

So - bought a down pipe - await to see what the no star issue is. Fitted a EWS deleted ECU and bridged the 2 wires. I can only assume it is a crank sensor but need further investigation.

So yeah, all good thus far, it turns over and sounds healthy enough - I fitted the single mass flywheel and coupled that with a new OEM sach clutch. I have also refreshed some parts and things to make sure I won't really have to touch it all season.

Reliable, simple skids.

I hope.

Will update again when running and see how it works at Swaffham :)

UPDATE:

So it runs, had to chase a few issues and tidy some things up but it's 95% there.

Only issue I have is no Rev counter ? Still trying to work that one out (open google) I also have a feeling the temp gauge might not work - something to do with the pin out on the X20 plug and a EWS 3 vs EWS 2 issue. so yeah. Need to find some time to actually drive it but so far I would say it's a success. Is a lot more responsive with the single mass flywheel. Al I really want is a OEM air box so I can run the factory cold feed to my hideous pod filter.

Will update once the clutch is fully bedded in and I have driven it in anger !

Cheers all.

Holy Thread revival. Moved onto E46's now - for anyone interested - this little M44 was an absolute babe - Did a number of skid days without issue - then it got PG'9'd by Mr plod and the parts went onto a coupe chassis.

Might throw up a thread on the 46's - 36 prices have risen a lot last few years.

Been through a few chassis since this was built - but still it was my favourite car.

Now using a M52B28TU swapped E46 saloon in Alpine white

If people want a thread on that - let me know - there are plenty of pics/vids to accompany a thread.
