Said I'd better update this, well anyway last Saturday I went to prodrift academy in mondello, great days Craic driving a 350z, definitely need a hydro in my next car, also got to meet Kevin kindregan and Willirl, two sound lads :)

Sunday then we were up early and headed to Pallas karting for the drift day, passed scrutineering, went through drivers briefing and went out to get the wheels changed on the rears to 15's.... Of course I forgot the locknut [emoji35] by this stage my group were out for our first 30 minute slot, so I threw on my drift spares after we got the nut off and dropped it down... Another problem, my spares are off an e39 and with the low offset they were rubbing on the arches, I was getting desperate at this point so we took to the arches with a sledge hammer and gro-bar, sorted! Then the car decided not to start, jumped it off dads l200 and I headed for the tyre van to pump the wheels to 50psi. At this stage I was well over half way into the first session so I was getting pissed, had to wait for someone to move their is200 before I could pump my wheels but finally Made it out onto the track with 10 minutes left! Fuck me, in them ten minutes I had the best fun in my life, was really surprised how well the little m40 went with 50psi in the rear on the damp track. That run finished, returned to the pits and watched the next two classes [emoji2]

right before I went out to my next session we noticed the rear shock dangling down, went on a mad rush to find a bolt to stick it back on and got one just in time before my class started, thanks to the lad who offered me the bolt, didn't catch your name. Got the full session in that round, the car seemed to struggle more that time around but I blamed it on the track starting to dry up. Came into the pits and everyone was staring at the back of my car, didn't realise I had been dragging the back bumper along the ground for a nice few laps hahaha. Before the third session I decided to try 60psi, just aswell because one of the rear wheels had dropped to 20 psi, so I pumped them up to 60 and headed out on track, car went really well that time round, I started to get the hang of it and by the end I was keeping up with 328's etc. There was then an open pit session where anyone from any class could head on track, I said fuck it and went for it, and I'm so glad that I did, seeing 180sx's and m3's in my rear view really pushed me to drive hard and lithos time round I really got the hang of it, clutch kicking and limiter bashing saw me through to nearly the end of that session when I came in to eager, spun and hit a truck tire

kept going for another few laps when she started to boil over so I headed into the pits and let it cool

watched another few rounds before heading home, the car is running fine again, no damage done mechanically thank god, she lives to drift another day.... Best fun I've ever had hands down, it's fair to say I'm hooked! Already looking at getting either a 328 or a 180sx shell to build, time will tell [emoji2]
