Groub B Tribute

Group B was the bomb. Peugeot 205 T16 and the Audi S1 quattro being two of my favourite cars ever.

:worthy: :worthy: :worthy: :worthy: :worthy:

Side exit exhausts, flamage, big wings, noise, real gearboxes, proper drivers, cars you could possibly buy versions of, that was motorsport.

i agree Group B was great......while it lasted.

the 6r4 was always a favorite of mine, i remember being at the NEC for its launch the Quattro sport SWB is still by far one of the maddest rally cars built.

a few years ago i was at Toyota Motorsport in Cologne and was shown the Group B car that Toyota had built, but unfortunatly never got round to racing.......Mk1 mr2 V6 twin turbo, madder than a fish with tits

there was far more incidents in group b that brought the demise other than the lancia crash....there were a fair few spectators killed aswell!!

Was never keen on the 6R4, mind you i do have an eternal for all things rover.

Your right about the deaths... Group B killed a few people thats for sure..

Rs200 :worthy:

Group B was amazing, shame it killed so many people, but its the rawness that should be in motorsport.

The spectators lining the roads :wack:

I recently got Sega GT Online (it was only a fiver) and this car is in it! It is proper crazy. A fair few manufacturers dabled with the Group B rules and missed out/never got round to entering before it imploded.

Modern WRC cars could do with an extra wallop of power if you ask me. 300 is fairly ordinary.

The great days of old ,

group B Rally was the best 500hp AWD cars flying around stages like no 2morrow bring it back:nod:  :worthy: , id say the closest we get to it now is rallycross but still no way as good.

Mats Right the WRC of nower day could do with a lot more power but if you ever get a go in a Full on WRC car it will still give you that worm feeling:worthy: :smash: :smokin: :wack:   il never forget goin out in a X Prodrive scooby on a test day .

Cheers Lionel.

Never heard the audi in the flesh before . that is crazy.

RS200 for me everytime. If i had a lotto win, i would have a GROUP B collection.

Lancia delta S4 for me still my favorite car of all time i remember seeing a road going version for sale a few years back at walkers garage in yorkshire i think the price tag was in the region of 100k.

have you got any pics? I couldn`t find any:(

My dads mate used to rally a 6R4 in ameture champs. I went in it as a passenger on an old airfield, fuck it was fast! Power slides of doom! Then i got a go driving but only in a straight line because he said i`d crash in corners because of the power:wack: I had trouble changing gear in the right place because i couldn`t keep up with the acceleration! H sold it soon after and rallyed a harvey gibbs built RWD fiesta cossy:worthy:

Thanks for sharing

The Audi S1 is in my Top 3 cars ever and having just come back from the Goodwood Festival of Speed where all of these awesome cars flexed their muscle's I can truly say that those video's don’t do the sound justice, but are some consolation to the masters of yester year.
