Groub B Tribute

Worked for RED (Rally engineering developments) during the grp B era. Looked after Jimmy Mcraes AC delco 6R4 and Harri Toivonens (henry's brother) RED 6R4 bastards to work on when they came in as they were super hot inside the mid engine bay.

Strange but true the current WRC cars beat the group B cars times on most events that still run the same stages like corsica. amazing what technology and handling can do.

Trust me, 500bhp with landrover style 4wd is a real handfull!

I used to be obsessed with Rallycross as a kid - always at Lydden Hill or Brands before they got rid of the raised bit. (Cheers Dad!)

It's got to be a 6R4 for me. Closely followed by the noise of the Quattro :alschaser and the over-engineering on the RS200. I could look at an Rs200 with the engine cover up all day long.

Nothing sounds as good as a 6R4 tho. Not even a gazllion bhp RB with a screamer pipe. I know it's not Group B but Will Gollop is my bloomin' hero!

braaaaaaaaaaapp! :worthy:

 Thats freakin mint! The owner didn`t even reg it for four years! If only i had the cash, anyone want a house-includes an S13, dog, sky and my bro:wack:

Not my house by the way but possesion is nine tenths of the law right:nod:

Jimmy McRae was my fucking hero back in the day! Isle of Man, 1986, 6 years old, Jimmy san in the blue and white Cosworth :worthy: :worthy: :worthy: Got beaten by Patrick Snijers though

Imagine if Group B came back these days with current diff and suspension technology :smash:

those Audi's were awesome!

anyone got/seen the DVD 'Too Fast to Race', highly recommended, available from Amazon, Play etc all about the Group B era including the Pikes Peak and Paris/Dakar races from the late 70's to the end of the Group B :smokin:

Them where the days , i had the plasure of driving a RS200 on my wedding day that was fun getting in and out 80degress , suited and dickie bowed up , had some mad looks

The "Too fast to race" DVD can be found on www.torrentspy.com, which is where I originally saw it from. Didn't like it much but the commentator explains car history as the video progress. It's probably worth watching the 1h50m above as it's only rally without anything else. It's too boring tho :P

ANy links to 'still to fast to race'??? got 'too fast to race' and really liked it, was good to hear some background to the cars specially if, like me, youre not old enough to have been around during the group b era
and id have to say the S1 Quattro is the nicest sounding, 6R4 is a very very close second though:smokin:
