How long do Driftworks lower arms normally last?

As Gregg (protuner) was astounded in how they were I've only had them for a year and a half and there seized and rusty :S I don't live by the sea and clean them a fair bit just wandering how often people change them as they look knackered already :(

Give them a good coat in grease and a clean every once in a while and they will be fine :)
If its a road car I'd always recommend stock lower arms.

had some top camber arms on my gtt about a year and they where ok as i greased them every week but under heavy load and lock they allowed the swan neck to move back making the wheel move back in to the foot well also even tho i greased them they would seize in to position underload causing inconstancy in the handling, change for ikeya formula and never looked back! :)

They moved under load, but then seized under load?

I've never heard of them coming loose.

Jesus , Items like that aren't a fit and forget , they need maintenance as they have threads and whatnot , clean em up and grease em when you change your oil and they'll last for ever!

yet again another snide comment from you Kam wow trying to catch me out or maybe trying to make me look dumb with my comments??
not really not really how a mod should conduct himself just seems like you have a real attitude problem and can only deal with a problem by being offensive.....
i was just putting my experience with.. them sorry i did...

You're getting carried away, I was asking you to clarify for me - to check I was reading your post correctly?

I agree with special-K, sometimes (like alot) it seems like you're just out here to piss people off.

"under heavy load and lock they allowed the swan neck to move back"
So, under load, they moved.
But then in the next sentence (well not really, punctuation is kinda lacking)...
"even tho i greased them they would seize in to position underload"
So, under load, they seized.

Get off Kam's back, he can't help you if you can't give him information that doesn't contradict itself...

the fuck? kam is a representive for dworks. your making claims that one of their products doesnt work, hes asking you to clarify what you mean.

not trying to make you look dumb.

ive used a variety of dworks arms, and never had any problems with them, as i regulary grease and service any moving parts.

I have had Dw tension rods for over a year and they are like new still . Like others have said just give them a clean when ever you can. No matter how good something is it will deteriorate over time in the conditions the under side of a car is subjected to. .

I've got the lower arms on my street car. Never been drifted only been on the car a year and only done about 2000-2500 miles and the bearings on the outer part that holds the spindle bit have worn out and have alot of play in them now you can wobble them with your finger and wobble the wheel with your hand. :( they were fitted by Ron at rk and I always clean them and make sure they are tight aswell. anyone else had this problem?

I had 5 yr old DW camber arms on my 32 and they were fine, still free moving and adjustable. Never greased them or looked after them lol

same goes for tension rods, 2-3 yrs worth of daily driving and drifting on various cars ( same arms moved on to cars ) and they were fine

might just be a dodgy arm that you got

I've had the Driftworks arms on my S15 for nearly 2 years. Daily driven and drifted. The rubber boots lasted maybe 3 months tops but the arms and bearings are fine to this day. They see some grease every couple of weeks.

are the driftworks arms any different from the apex/japspeed/ebay ones?

Yes I know the dw ones are orange but where are they made? are they custom made to driftworks spec(not just colour)?
