its very obvious in the video clips i have seen that speed makes a huge difference.
i have previously posted a clip of phil taken from turn 2 , where you can see the speed he carries through 2, enables him to drift continuously into 3
this clip here.
that was probably a practice, because we all know he spins in competition.....
as for track time, how much did you loose because someone was in the kitty litter? from counting the spins during the day, i recon over an hour was lost!
i have video, so I can name and shame but obviously, that's what practice is for. i know talking to the marshalls, that it's a real pain digging lowered cars out of the gravel.
if the gaps between cars were reduced, then there would need to be more flag waving marshalls, and better observation of the flags. it doesn't help your cause when a car is in the gravel, and the next car not only carries on drifting, it then donuts next to the car in the gravel...... and yes, i have that on film too.
as for judges on track, i asked the marshall if i could get out to the bunker, on the inside of turn 1/2 (opposite the stands) and he said no, no one was allowed out there, too dangerous....
the only downside of several cars on track that i can think of, is that it is more likely that i will be filming the wrong car
