Not much of an update but going to try and do smaller consistent updates to show where the car is now.
Most people will know I’ve been living in London for 2 years now, flying home to work on the car then drive to events, back then fly to London. I’ve decided to take the car to England and cut out the massive journey times for drift days.
So I had a one way flight last week.
Got back to the car and had a few things to do such as alignment, weld in a replacement V band, solder a new fuse into my boost controller (still having issues after STL.) which are all boring shit so don’t have photos of any of this.
Exciting stuff, got a wideband now, always been paranoid about my AFR running a stock ECU with more boost so this will put my mind at ease a bit.
Then as above I’ve been a bit unsure of the Minervas and although I really wanted to build a Review/Enjoy inspired car I just couldn’t hack how “hotboy” the car looked with them. So we are back to the VSXX.
Front needs to come down more, story of my life. Glad I made the decision to keep though.
Gave it a small wash before it’s 8 hour drive down the road.
Then starter the journey, fully loaded with all my tools. Spare vsxx as well as a diff and shafts for a mate.
First 120 miles were a breeze. Chilling at 60 on the A9 then when I got to Perth and had to do the first turn on a roundabout the car snapped and pulled into the right. Thinking that something like a suspension arm had collapsed I crawled into a filling station to find my shaft had exploded.
Filling station repair and I was good to go again.
Next issue was a bird running out into the motorway with no way for me to avoid it. Thinking my splitter would be dead because of it being fibreglass I pulled into the next services. No damage at all apart from a broken cable tie. That’s quality from profitkits!
Made it down to my mates to store it without issues. Now the car is only 2 hours from my house and not far from Rockingham where I’m booked on for the 7th.
I’ll just dump other pictures now as nothing else is exciting.
Oh and I also sorted out a new passenger seat, which is the bride I had been using as I got a new taller one for myself.
